(es) wrote: Insidious 2 is everything it's prequel was but less in every way. The story suffered more, the acting quality suffered more, and the cheap shock drops were more abundant. It plays off a good idea but is executed poorly. Insidious 2 is another drop in the sea of forgettable horror films.

(es) wrote: The songs in this slice-of-life musical are great and very diverse, from the catchy pop tunes, to the funky dance beats, to the scream-along rock numbers, and even a few cabaret-inspired tracks with lyrics that made the whole audience laugh out loud. The story feels so true to life at some parts that it??s almost hard to watch, but after seeing so many coincidence-driven Hollywood movies with their too-perfect endings, it's quite refreshing to see a film like this which takes the more honest approach. That being said, the pacing does slow down to a crawl a couple times, and the numerous secondary characters are underdeveloped. But the protagonist is likable enough to make up for it, with her struggles and weaknesses being easy to relate to, and her journey is overall very entertaining to watch.

I found myself laughing often and even smiling at the dilemmas that the main character, Olaf, finds himself as he spends Christmas with his parents and his boyfriend for the first time. Only problem is that Olaf is not out of the closet. A cute coming-out film that does make you feel warm and fuzzy afterwards, and yes - even a bit hopeful. I haven't seen a gay movie in a while that made me smile and even shed a tear like this one has. The main actor is definitely cute and the actors who play the mom and the dad are funny and charming in their own dorky ways. Two thumbs up.

(gb) wrote: I have watched many many many horror movies. None of them have ever struck me as slightly scary. This movie scared me so bad it kept me up for 36 hours after finishing it. I love this movie and Max is my favorite serial killer I've ever watched. He's absolutely brilliant, viscous, and likable all at the same time.

(fr) wrote: Funny in places, this somewhat disjointed tale of WW2 espionage is quite watchable but hardly compelling. Cagney does well to make it as good as it is.
(ca) wrote: A good, enjoyable horror flick with some genuinely scary moments and a gory opening scene.
(gb) wrote: Is Hitchcock supposed to be funny? Coz this sure was a funny take on PTSD. With a miracle cure at the end too!
(nl) wrote: An uncomfortable lesson about the beginning of the USA's involvement in Vietnam. At once a superb action film and also a salutary story of how many lives might have been saved if the Americans had lost the first major battle with the Vietcong.
