(jp) wrote: This movie is an amazing book-to-movie adaption. There are lines that are word-for-word from the book, and almost every part in the book became a scene in the movie. As someone who read the book, I loved this movie. As someone who hated the book, I respected this movie. If you read the book and loved it, you NEED to watch the movie adaption.

(it) wrote: If you liked Downton Abbey, but wished there had been a bit more stabbing, have I got a movie for you. Gosford Park came first, of course, but there is so much overlap in the setting, themes, and even actors that I felt like I was watching some sort of companion piece. It's a slow burn, but ultimately pays off in a well-crafted murder mystery. My only challenge was keeping track of who everyone was, as there are a lot of characters on screen (played by a virtual who's who of English stars).Grade: B+

(kr) wrote: Early Morgan Freeman film finds him as a strict disciplinarian who must conquer the worst school in America. Full of montages about learning instead of boxing or karate, the movie has a good performance from Freeman but reeks of 80's sports films. John G. Avildsen keeps the formula of underdogs winning the same, but this film has its moments.
(it) wrote: Very low budget postmodern spaghetti western brought to life by a bunch of rock stars (Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello, Courtney Love) with the money they would have normally used to tour, about a caffeine addicted gang in a very dusty Spanish village. Not my favorite Alex Cox movie; I feel they had a lot more fun making this than I had watching it.
(nl) wrote: Dumb, unfunny and painfully boring

(ru) wrote: Another follow up to the original Invisible man but what I hate is they keep trying diffrent things like the Invisible Woman and now this one the Invisible man Nazi style! The acting is very good but this film started out a little bit fast paced and I did not like that something that the last 2 films have been missing is the Invisible Man madness I miss that they do not do that anymore. The story for this film was good it did not start out that good but it did work out much more serious film then the last one which was a comedy but not this one I did like this one I just wish they would stick to the formula of the first 2 films I look forward to the final Invisible man film and yes I do suggest this one not half bad!
(es) wrote: Terrible movie, terrible writing and worst of all Sophie's acting is atrocious. Would not recommend.
(kr) wrote: Wow it's cheesy and has obviously fake special effects and over-the-top acting. However, even given all of that, it's still a pretty fun film to watch
(jp) wrote: I think this is gonna be a great move
(nl) wrote: Very well acted and full of very tragic unexpected twists.
(us) wrote: "Stand Up Guys" starts with Val(Al Pacino) being released from prison after 28 years, where he is met by his best friend Doc(Christopher Walken). Whereas Doc may never stab his friend in the back, he may have to shoot him, under orders from Claphands(Mark Margolis). But first Doc takes his friend to get laid and introduces him to viagra."Stand Up Guys" is a better movie than I was expecting and not as good as it could have been. For example, there is a scene in a cemetery that makes absolutely no sense but still works. In any case, it is always fun watching a couple of old pros do their thing, even Al Pacino who is relatively restrained here. And while the movie does have its share of erection jokes, it is also wistful in tone, telling the viewer the story of this singular friendship over an eventful night.
(au) wrote: Many religious movies fail with the unbearable push of faith to the audience, as well as the clear abuse of darkened themes to spread more awareness regarding beliefs. This movie does not play that way. There is clearly some noble intentions seen here, for it is a movie that holds complete interest on provoking thoughts and action, rather than to be gratified as a cinematic work of art. It is ridden with cliches, stereotypes, and some very sketchy acting, but that is what drops the hint. Overall, the worth of this film lays in its nutritional value, and it's ability to make a relationship with a teenage mind.
