I'm just not sure a group of Scottish soldiers would be this over the top happy and so willing to burst into song about their soppy feelings. Plus, I'm surprised a musical has been based on the Proclaimers, they've hardly got an endless list of hits loved by the world.

It was also the second movie of the director, Ken Ghosh, who gave Ishq Vishk before this one where Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao got their debut. Surprisingly, despite Fida?s great qualities, it failed at the box office which is un-understandable. Maybe it was the bad luck of Shahid + Kareena-jodi? The story begins as a romantic movie, but at the middle it switch to an interesting thriller. The scenes are well executed, and its one of the few movies where Fardeen Khan suited very well in his role. In addition, Shahid and Kareena also provided good performances.

It gives off some great effects even though they barely show us that. The plot is your usual road trip movie, but add an alien as a twist towards the genre, which means there's going to be some predictable stuff in it. The chemistry between the two leads are really good and one of the main strengths of the film. It also gives off some humor in it which are really funny. It gives in some heavy drama in it which is really effective. From a critic I read from, Starman really is a romance film in disguise with drama scenes mixed in with some sweet moments.

(au) wrote: There is so much going on, it makes it hard to watch. I couldn't process everything at once. But it is funny at times, a little slow moving for a comedy, but the gags throughout make it enjoyable. But I do love Art House films, and french films.
