I was surprised that an entire film was based around Potts, although there was probably enough to warrant this reasonably short film. Despite it being a very easy; and somewhat charming watch, it can't be rated higher than I have as it ultimately failed to excite or particularly interest me.

Will Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays were the perfect couple. Nice and perfect animation to bring the smurfs to life. So for this being one good animation movie that my brother and I enjoyed, and for bringing the smurfs to life after seeing them in cartoons, I give " The Smurfs " a B-.

Everyone but the onboard computer has lost it in this gloriously Godot-ish exercise in exploring why people will go mad in spaaaaace! I first saw this movie on late might TV when I was fourteen; I was blown away by its mating of science fiction tropes and human absurdity. There isn't anything else quite like it in cinema, and I love it! The main title is a Country Western song; I hate country, but I love Benson Arizona!

The screenplay is surprisingly flat. It's so predictable. And those kids, they were so irritating and bratty at times. It's not awful, I just would have expected more due to the talent involved.

The plot it self is nothing out of the ordinary as you follow the life of an ordinary boy and his sister and mother in the course of 12 years. The real beauty this movie has is how much it can take you back as when you turned 6,10,14,16 and 18, the innocence in childhood, the pressure from middle school, parties, the search to know who you are when you turn 16 and finally growing up and going out to the world when you turn 18, the way it makes you think of your life really adds a vert special value to the movie. when i watched it when i was graduating highschool, and it was very special, now here i am on my second year of college and its still fun to watch.highly recommend
