Still not perfect though with a not-so-good pacing, a small amount of dull moments and an undying lack of personality.

(jp) wrote: This Danish prison movie is the real thing: real prison, most of the actors are ex-inmates, and you feel that realism coming from the screen. Not fun to watch, but it's certainly a movie that creeps under your skin. A real tour de force by first-time directors Lindholm and Noer.

(it) wrote: Yep. I've seen this. After reading the synopsis I figured it might be B movie camp at its finest. And it has George Takei in it. What I got wasn't what I was expecting. This movie is definitely a contender for the worst movie I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong. I like bad movies. Jason X is one of my favorites (Jaaasooon...iiiiinnn...SPAAAAAACE). This steaming pile of poo (I won't dignify it by calling it a movie, let alone a film) is so abysmally bad that I think I might be dumber for having watched it.What makes it even worse is that while it mentions the main characters enter stripping competitions, you don't actually see anything. I know that makes me seem like a skeevy perv, but when a movie is this bad AND there's no gratuitous nudity to at least focus your attention...that's an affront to B movie making. And don't get me started on the acting. Ever been to a terrible high-school play? You've seen better acting. Avoid this movie like the plague. It's not even worth seeing for its terribleness. This movie MIGHT be good if you were so completely drunk that you've forgotten your own name.

(gb) wrote: i actually thought this was a fairly intriguing story that kept me into it. but overall the movie was disappointing for a few reasons,SPOILERSone specific small part was when the colonel "slipped up" when being questioned about the dead patient. he responded "you think i poisoned him" when no one else knew that yet. i know it could happen but for someone running an elaborate drug scheme and trying to avoid decades in jail, you would think he would be a little more careful. when i first watched the film in theaters, i thought the final twist was awesome. now it just seems out of place, forced, and extremely convenient. it seems like they just made up a bunch of stuff to try to confuse people until they get to the final twist, which is basically "haha just kidding everyone is alive and everything you just watched was a lie"Then there are other huge coincidences, like why was travolta chosen to investigate an incident that just so happened to involve half of his super secret team? you could argue that they set it up that way, but if that was the case then travolta knew that the colonel was dirty and the entire investigation was useless. And he was hand selected by the colonel because he was being investigated for bribery and might have been buy-able.There are a lot of plot holes, I'm sure I could find more if I watched it again. It tried to be too smart for its own good. (3 views)

(ag) wrote: Of all the Child's Play/Chucky sequels, this may be the high point. The original film is still the best and although the tone of this sequel is significantly different, fully embracing a comic/horror tone, it's a very fun film. In this fourth film in the series, Jennifer Tilly plays a murderous goth who wants to resurrect Chucky. She does that and then after a series of events finds herself also in the body of a creepy doll. That's pretty much it. Chucky and Tiffany then go on a murder spree, but the film is gamily directed by Hong Kong director Ronny Yu and features a fun cast besides just Tilly and Dourif, including Katherine Heigl, Alexis Arquette, John Ritter, and Kathy Najimy. I'm generally not a fan of horror/comedies, but this one works. Still, it's not a film for all tastes and I think most viewers would have a pretty good idea before going into it if it's your cup of tea or not.
(ag) wrote: I had a lot of trouble finishing this film. The premise was incredibly cheesy and nearly went against everything the previous two films stood for and brought to light. Maybe three nerd films was too much...
(it) wrote: I always thought it might be cute.
(jp) wrote: I'll see it, even though I assume it's Carpenter's worst (one reviewer said he was replaced by a pod person after getting abducted by aliens by the look of the film)
(kr) wrote: Peter Jackson's bizarre dark puppet tale in which Muppet like characters are portrayed like disgusting people vulnerable to all sorts of vices is pretty odd. I found it somewhat entertaining, but I admire it for what it was. I'm not sure it was entertaining as "Bad Taste" or "Braindead" from his schlockier period, but it has it's moments. It seems to aim more for the shocks than for genuine laughs. It's hilarious to think that the guy who made this puppet schlockfest eventually won an Oscar for a top notch special effects-laden Fantasy film.

(au) wrote: In my favorite narrative style, the story is told in a series of flashback as Ginger engages in some dialog with her alter ego in a mirror. Kitty is confronted by her two suitors, both of whom propose to her at the same time. Wynn, is a Philadephia millionaire whilst Mark is a doctor. This scenario in her life begins a contemplating what she should do, thus, the mirror debate with herself proved to be very effective. The onscreen chemistry between Ginger Rogers and Dennis Morgan is unique and very much evident. Im not going to pretend that i know who the director, Sam Wood was, but he made this film work for me. Brilliant. Wyn Strafford: Until you can get another job... Kitty Foyle: What do you mean? Wyn Strafford: Why don't I just keep you on the payroll? It's no more than fair - Kitty Foyle: Just a minute, Wyn. You needn't worry about me. I'm free, white and 21... almost. And I'll go on loving you from here on out... or until I stop loving you. But nobody owes a thing to Kitty Foyle, except Kitty Foyle.
