Trent R (es) wrote: Stamp is just there as non-Aussie name talent. Hanging around the first half in order to draw links between himself and his chimp while creepily sexualizing his pedagogical relationship with Shue. The implications are thankfully unexplored. De Roche's script starts out interestingly, but devolves quickly - perhaps due to production difficulty. The mad monkey hijinx play out fairly well, with Link corrupted by unethical human intervention instead of the silly, false dichotomies set up in Monkey Shines and Shakma. A fully-telegraphed payoff weakens the ending. But Shue, as always, does a great job acting opposite apes.

Scott C (fr) wrote: I watched, I enjoyed, as well this movie makes me yearn to shower, as in to feel clean, after watching! We always talk about movies evoking emotions, Fassbinder does it with Querelle.

Anthony B (ag) wrote: I never saw the play, but what a bizarre little movie. I mean this in the best possible sense of the word. This film is very odd. The writing is withholding, the direction is incomprehensible, and the cinematography is beyond confining...but that's what made me love it so. If you are looking for a Mel Brook's style follow up to the Producers...look elsewhere. This work is one of a kind, so check all of your expectations at the door and be sure to keep an open mind to "the weird" because in this case it is absolutely wonderful. Although Rhinoceros left me somewhat frustrated and scratching my head in confusion, overall I can't deny just how funny this film really is. Seriously people, this forgotten gem is truly hilarious.

Soumo M (ag) wrote: Really good precursor to Rockford, Marlowe brings back the gritty detective drama.

Jenna I (mx) wrote: Shockingly not bad, mostly because of the solid yet simple plot. Elvis is rich, switches place with a poor guy so he can find true love. Shelley Fabares shines with a better written role as the nice girl who's looking out for her own financial security. If only the music was better and Elvis had been more into his acting this easily could have been a three star-er.

Mark D (br) wrote: Typical Vincent Price flick of this period. Very watchable and entertaining.

Ennis Brokeback L (gb) wrote: One of the best rape revenge movies ever made. This one is a classic.

Christopher B (fr) wrote: The film slowly slips from a date night flick to a turkey. Then just as it starts to become a decent morality fable this film sidesteps into a corny contrived Hollywood tearjerker. Unfortunately, there are no sob tracks like cheesy comedies have laugh tracks. But the sets in every scene are nice. Watch for cameos of Herbie Hancock, Sheena Easton, and Billy Connoly.

Kalin G (br) wrote: I frankly liked the movie for its masterful mixture of political conspiracy, judicial and moral dilemmas, and the brilliant cast. Great people protect principles, not other people or themselves.

Dorianator F (mx) wrote: Great movie, fantastic acting, great story. The stockbroking details were just really confusing in the movie. But, it was a fantastic movie. Great performances from Douglas and both Sheens.
