(it) wrote: Nice H.P. Lovecraft documentary that really knows it audience. Knowing that anyone who is apt to watch a documentary on Lovecraft is probably interested in horror and dark fantasy, so they filmmakers wisely interviewed many of todays masters of horror and fantasy, including Neil Gaiman, John Carpenter, Guillermo del Toro, Ramsey Campbell, and the like. Well worth watching if you're a fan of Lovecraft.

The bond between the characters seemed so fake. The relationship between Amir and his best friends seemed unreal. I really hate the character of the lead actor. Failed!

(it) wrote: This could have been fantastic-- the story is great, philip glass is a great choice, and it has a couple of great scenes-- but it was shot so boringly and impersonally it's hard to really get into. The acting isnt great either. Disappointingly bland.

(it) wrote: Russell Crowe plays the most unstereotypical gay man I've even seen in a movie. And Jack Thompson's character as the supportive father is a breath of fresh air. The movie becomes a bit of a downer towards the end but picks up shortly after. One of the greatest father son relationships I can remember seeing.
