Josh B (ca) wrote: A powerful, experimental piece about dealing with the horrors of war. This movie doesn't pick a side of the war these men fought in it just displays the trauma and reactions of being in it. People focus too much on the political aspects of the film but those that do are missing the point, stop looking at the war (or war in general) as This vs That but look at it for what it really is, a point in which the loss of life becomes staggering and humanity means little.

Isabelle N (de) wrote: The movie may be cheesy and poorly acted and the dialogues are awful, but the dancing and the exquisite choreographies definitely make up for it. Basically, it's a rare gem, seeing Patrick Swayze dance with his wife, remembering his knee injury and his history with dance. I think in some way the movie is autobiographical (written by Lisa Niemi, Patrick's spouse).

Kim B (es) wrote: Great movie about a young, fanciful, and stubborn Japanese woman. Deals with an arranged marriage situation most people have never really heard about. I could definitely relate to the main character and was so upset when her best friend died. I think Tomita did great as Riyo's best friend. I could understand how she felt about her harsh reality, but I felt bad for her husband. I'm glad she came around eventually and realized to make the best of it and it was a sweet ending. I felt like the whole movie should have had subtitles because their accents made it difficult to understand. Nice acting and directing, soundtrack is very soothing.
