Borhan K (de) wrote: The Starving Games a mockup of The Hunger Games franchise is like all the other spoof comedy movies that make fun of the original. The movie is not great but its ok does justice to the original makes fun of all the right things.Do I recommend it not really a movie that does not keep all your attention and you can have a nap in the middles of is not that great.

Emerson V (br) wrote: I always thought Filipino movies involved some cheesy, clich and/or unoriginal story line. This movie rises above all of those. WIth a human storyline, amazing cast, and a very intimate relationship with the protagonists, this movie made me tear up... more than once.

Anna B (fr) wrote: Really good for a first feature, though the oppressively ultra-grim tone (and Pittaway's miserable face, which varies between "about to cry" and "crying" for most of the second half) started to wear me down after a while, and in the third act was verging on self-parody. Par for the course with Australian dramas though, and it's never bad. But if Kurzel can learn to vary his tone while also telling a compelling story he could be one of the greats.

Jason K (ru) wrote: Suffered from the "Final Cut" symptom of great idea with shoddy execution. This one im blaming on what seems to be a non-comedy director trying to direct a black comedy movie. Everything just falls flat, ideas are made and then thrown away, etc. sad really as its a Irish drinking movie w aliens- I mean, Come on people!

David J (ru) wrote: Even when you're in the mood for a bad movie, don't watch this. It's not even a good bad movie... as far as good bad movies go.

Paul M (it) wrote: Slow at some parts. Some of the dialog is kind of laughable at times, but what truly shines is Marlon Brando's performance, Bernardo Bertolucci's direction, and Gato Barbieri's score. The whole movie, outside of the plot itself, is really stunning. The cinematography, the lighting, the color's. It all feels like a painting, revealing the need for human interaction, and the need for love. Marlon Brando is giving possibly the greatest performance of his career. Better then Vito Corleone from the Godfather. This is the most personal performance of any career. When you look at him, you get the sense of presence, the sense of authority, but no power to back it up. There is a past to his character, and the realization he comes to at the end is both liberating for both him and the audience. Bertollucci's angles and tracking shots, crane shots can give Scorsese a run for his money. They're just amazing. The music score is so brilliant. Listening to the Jazz tune makes me tap my foot every time. The screenplay is good, though it has many flaws, but it works great for this story. It's a character study on Loneliness and the need for human companionship. It's set on emotions, not logic, and because of that, it may turn out to be one of the most heart wrenching, ground breaking drama's in history.

Brian B (fr) wrote: How is it that Barbara Steele got such a reputation as being a great horror actress? I've only seen maybe one or two movies that were any good with her in it.

Carandrea R (ru) wrote: amazing movie, I fell in love with it as a young child and as an adult knowing the actors and actresses in this movie and what the stood for , I love it even more as an adult

Jason F (us) wrote: A chore to sit through because of everyone except Stallone and Snipes being total losers. Sandra Bullock is so obnoxious as well as all the "good guys" in this future setting. Not even the cheesy action you'd expect from this kind of movie can save it because in between action scenes you have to listen to people say the stupidest shit ever (almost like they're embarrassed to say it). Even the Warden from Shawshank Prison is a wuss in this film! It would have been so much better had the film's plot been Stallone trying to capture Snipes in 1993 LA.

Gray C (nl) wrote: It's silly, tacky and ridiculous but funny and fun.
