Michael Jackson: The Inside Story - What Killed the King of Pop? torrent reviews

Travis H (es) wrote: The death scenes were well-crafted, with some touches of originality. The cast was surprisingly talented across the board. The plot itself leans way too heavily on incestuous stereotypes about people who live in the south (perhaps even more so than the other films in the series). This franchise used to be amusing enough as a guilty pleasure but now it's jumped the shark even on that.

BeeChoo L (nl) wrote: Watched it on the plane. Jacky is bit old for this role. Overall this is an average rating movie.

Helga H (au) wrote: What a pretentious, long winded, boring, self serving piece of crap. Who cares about these people? The movie just makes you wish it would hurry up & be over already. That's the strongest emotion it engendered.

Gabrielle D (kr) wrote: the end sucked felt like it should of had and extra 20mins or so but other then that it was a good movie

Eduardo B (ru) wrote: It has some funny moments, definitely some good ideas here and there. But overall it's just too silly.

Jen H (nl) wrote: In subplots, a courageous young woman falls in love with a socialist and survives a shop foreman's rape; children die; prelates play billiards. (In other words, this movie sounds totally great)

Blake P (gb) wrote: It's easy to forget that there was a time in which Woody Allen was strictly silly. For years, he made effortlessly funny screwball comedies that combined his standup skills and witty writing. His comedy never necessarily died, he just slowly got more mature as he aged, beginning with 1977's "Annie Hall." "Sleeper" was made in 1973 and is one of his earliest and finest films. Allen's only foray into the sci-fi genre, "Sleeper" is ingeniously funny while also creating a razor-sharp satire of other science fiction films of the era. The film opens in 2173. The colors of the architecture are strictly metallic grays and whites. The cars are pod-like and look straight out of a pulp fiction novel. The people are ignorant and dependent on technology. Imagine the shock Miles Monroe (Allen) feels when he wakes up. An owner of an unsuccessful health food store, Miles was cryogenically frozen in 1973. His awakening is illegal in the eyes of the Big Brother-like leader of the world, and in response, the scientists who thawed him are killed. In just a short time, Miles becomes the most wanted man in the nation, dubbed "The Alien" by the citizens. He goes on the run, kidnapping a buffoon named Luna (Diane Keaton) on the way, and so begins a series of antics that rival the physical comedy mania of Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton. "Sleeper" works so well because it is so self-aware and confident in its delivery. Many of the jokes are broad - in one sequence, Miles makes fun of the future's ignorance by telling curious scientists that Bela Lugosi was the mayor of New York and that Charles de Gaulle was a famous chef - but all are done so with a straight face and sure-fire timing. Allen's writing is impeccable. Excellent comedy scenes come right after the other, never losing their focus and never losing their punch. There isn't a moment where we even get the opportunity to stop laughing, albeit stop smiling. Allen's films have endured so long because they tie-together modern self-deprecation with vintage appreciation. Miles Monroe feels like an autobiographical character as his neuroses are so distinctly Allen's; the loud jazz music, which plays with a frenzied buzz throughout every screwball sequence, is obviously a throwback to the days of Carole Lombard and Bob Hope. The pairing of Allen and Keaton is, of course, a delight: no other woman has ever matched Allen's nutty personality so perfectly. Keaton as Luna is simply gold: she is forced to say some ridiculous lines, but she possesses the kind of timing that Lucille Ball and Katharine Hepburn portrayed with such manic clarity. I've seen "Sleeper" about five times now, and each time it's even more enjoyable. As the computer age thickens and we become more reliable on Google, it's more relevant than ever, even funnier because it seems to mirror Generation Y's cultural ignorance. And while critics may have not been smitten with Allen's "Magic in the Moonlight" this year, "Sleeper" is a reminder he's at his most fun when he's at his least self serious.

Steve M (au) wrote: The Undertaker and His Pals Starring: Rad Fulton, Ray Dannis, Warrene Ott, Marty Friedman, and Sally Frei Director: T.L.P. Swicegood A crooked undertaker (Dannis) and his psychopatic greasy-spoon-owning friends (Ott and Friedman) drum up business by invading the homes of beautiful young women and murdering them. The cooks take parts of bodies and serve them in the restraunt, while the undertaker overcharges the families for buring the remaining remains. It's a great scheme, until they target the secretary of private eye Jim Glass (Fulton) and twin sex-pots Thursday and Friday (Frei). Writing that summary is about all the time I intend to spend on this movie. I almost feel apologetic that I made you read it. You've probably never heard of or seen this miserable failure at making a black comedy, and I encourage you to keep it that way. To say this movie is crap is an insult to fertilizer. The One Tomato rating is very generous, and it's based solely on the fact that the film does have a couple of good gags... but they are the sort of gags that a 12 year old would think up scribbling in his notebook while bored in class.

Bob M (au) wrote: Kon Ichikawa died recently but this documentary will live on forever. Must be seen on the biggest screen possible, amazing cinematography.

Conrad S (nl) wrote: You know that feeling when you watch a film so fundamentally broken, where even the sound editing is terrible, well this film is a perfect example of this. It's odd that a film based on a comic about the cold war could be so good, seeing the way that comics have been one of the few mediums to core nothing but gold in that field. It's very obvious that this film is made from several different stories, as each act holds a story that is never fully developed and never fully resolved. Lex Luthor is the most boring he's ever been. To improve, stop being so lazy, and actually make new footage!
