Guido S (de) wrote: I enjoyed the first one despite how dated it feels in parts because it had a bit of heart and charm which beat out the cheesiness of everything. The sequel still is quite cheesy, but with barely any fun or heart like the original. The pets are back and get lost in an airport and end up going to San Francisco. They meet up with stray animals and try to get back to their owners. No where near the fun of the original, I couldn't get into this one and it felt like a cheap sequel.

Dave J (ru) wrote: Wednesday, September 12, 2012 (1982) The Return Of Martin Guerre (In French with English subtitles) MYSTERY Seen this movie many years ago about an unknown coming to a village portraying himself to be Martin Guerre played by veteran actor Gerald Depardieu who may or may not be him. The wife of the real Guerre does eventually begin to accept him even though majority of the villagers do not depicting a time period which is during the Medieval times when people believed in witches. I saw this film once and don't think I'll ever see it again since it's strictly by the book and already know what I can't get from other films for instance "The Scarlet Letter" which centers on this time period. It inspired a remake starring Richard Gere and Jodie Foster called "Sommersby" made in 1993 and perhaps "The Astronaut's Wife" made in 1999 starring charlize Theron and Johnny Depp. The other reason for the negative rating is that I'm also a sucker for superficial endings. 2 out of 4

They pick at each other, but in the end Lou, Arnold, and Frank are the best of friends competing for the same reasons. Need some motivation? Give this a watch to remind you what lifting is all about!
Michael H (mx) wrote: Oh, the irony: railing against machinery while eating out of tin cans. Deliberate irony, I believe. The movie starts off looking like a fabulous hippie trip but gradually begins to show the underlying hypocrisy and essential brutality of the characters when they meet with adversity. Not very subtle, obviously low budget, and sometimes very peculiar. But interesting for what it attempts.

One female character is a bit older. She was old enough to know herself and her sexual preferences. But, she gives up women to turn to a hetero relationship ... go figure. Some women seem to have a plastic, moldable, sexual orientation. Something is not rite there. This is an old story. Its interesting that men rarely, if ever, go from gay relationships to hetero ones. Ive never heard nor read of a documented case like that. There did not seem to be much dramatic tension. So, when the ending comes, it is a bit out of place.

Kali K (us) wrote: A snazzed up version of amateur pornography. This film is a bunch of pointless, putrid rubbish being marketed as "art". Aimed solely at shock value, "9 Songs" fails at creating even the slightest bit of intimacy between the characters we're forced to watch engage in _multiple_ sexual acts, and automatically loses any chance of being anything more than just staged, explicit porn. I honestly think this movie was created just to be labeled as "scandalous taboo". Putting it as eloquently as possible, it's garbage.
