Mistaken for Strangers
Mistaken for Strangers follows The National on its biggest tour to date. Newbie roadie Tom (lead singer Matt Berninger’s younger brother) is a heavy metal and horror movie enthusiast, and can't help but put his own spin on the experience. Inevitably, Tom’s moonlighting as an irreverent documentarian creates some drama for the band on the road. The film is a hilarious and touching look at two very different brothers, and an entertaining story of artistic aspiration.

Quality film making with good messages foryoung people. My 11 year old son loved it...was mesmerized by the storyand laughed at loud at the humor. Makes a fond and lasting impression.

(jp) wrote: Very good film, Shade does a very good job of being the melancholy sister, while Trudi is wild but she can't help it as something bad had happened to her. I found it funny that someone butchered the fingerspelling in the movie when Shade meets Javiers mom.

(ru) wrote: One of the great unseen police thrillers of the 70's. It is a film crying to be remade by Hollywood. A good idea, depending on who they would get to direct. Also very much in the gritty, stark style of filmmaking very much in vogue right now (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Killing) and David Fincher would be a obvious choice to direct. Not too twisted in plotting, so a broader audience could take to it. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a smart, well acted thriller.

(nl) wrote: Rather corny western that really has nothing to do with the real story of Billy the Kid. Still, it has a good cast, particularly Brian Donlevy and some excellent location photography.
(jp) wrote: Shocking subject matter for 1933: a photographer snaps a picture of a prisoner in the electric chair. And a woman no less.
