Julian P (nl) wrote: One of the best horror movies I have seen in a long time. Horror is one of my favorite movie genres, so naturally I have seen a ton of them. With that being said, it takes a LOT to scare me but Grave Encounters definitely accomplished that. The best part about this movie is they didn't go for too much. It's very easy for new age horror movies to turn cheesy very quickly but Grave Encounters was solid from start to finish because they knew their limits. I'm typically not a huge fan of found footage horror movies but they did this one right. Definitely watch this movie if you are looking for a genuinely scary horror film. 9/10

Deb K (it) wrote: This movie was unique and very cool and great effects, but there was still not enough gore, and although filmed in an old insane asylum, wasn't an overall scary movie, it was kind of predictable.

Ashley S (ca) wrote: Good cast, dumb film, has a few laughs but too pointless and weak to really recommend. the best thing about this film is that Maria Grazia Cuccinotta is hot, not really the best reason to watch a film.
Kevin S (kr) wrote: Walter Matthau is in his groove as the only liberal judge on the Supreme Court, just gets a little preachy and dry diving into the the conservative vs. liberal thinking arguement once too many times.

Riley H (us) wrote: This is not a disaster by any means, despite its reputations with some critics. Yes, I think they really misunderstood the whole point of the play (though I haven't read it) but the slapstick is still funny. It would be really interesting to see this material in the hands of someone who had real experience of nazism, fascism or communism, rather than Americans who just think it's silly.
Adrian B (es) wrote: Corrupt story of a nun (Catherine Denueve) who joins a church school, catering specifically to special children, in a small Spanish town (Deneuve, who is originally French, had her voice dubbed Spanish into within the movie). When she joins, she is hit on by the main priest (Fernando Rey, also dubbed) of the church, and they begin discreet affair. Unfortunately, the nun begins enveloped in a tragic illness, for which she loses her leg as a result. Amusing and odd story, with signature Bunuel direction and humour. Though not his best, it is still intriguing, peculiar study of an evil congregation under the master.
