Alex B (mx) wrote: It's more Platonist and/or Nietzschean than Marxist (and more Maoist than Marxist), more petty-bourgeois than working-class. But it's also more interesting than perhaps nine-tenths of all other sci-fi/fantasy movies. It's almost or sort of a critique of imperialism/colonialism. And at least it gleefully shows (most of) the ruling class getting massacred. Compare it with Storm Over Asia.

The acting is B quality and nothing more. Their is a fight scene that is so ridiculous I almost turned it off. The majority of the graphics are obviously done by computer, but are really bad. It's almost like they didn't even try to make it look close to real. I really like the main actor Brian Krause when he was in Charmed but I can't believe how much he couldn't make this work. Here is a quote from the movie ?All I need is your eye ball!? Ok so for as dramatic as the movie tried to be the ending was like a bottle rocket.

Alistair L (gb) wrote: I saw this film on the strength of the trailer, and not on any reviews - it looked cool, edgy and dark. It's all about a dislike-able young A&R (Artists & Repertoire) manager, Stephen Stelfox - he will literally do anything to get ahead in the music business, and is played dead pan, with aplomb and charm by Nicholas Hoult. I do take issue with some of the language used by Stelfox, there's pretty much something there designed to offend just about anyone, every ism in the dictionary, but most of all cynicism - however conversely there are some real gems. Our anti-hero's mantra is borrowed from "Conan the Barbarian"; To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women! Success is a gang-bang, failure is a lonely rapist in the bushes. It's a big finger up at how fickle the music industry can be. It is offensive for sure, but it was also fun to watch if you can leave your sensitivities at home.
