Like guidelines lead to a major portion of the script, full with expression sheets and storyboard examples. The boy and his parents are especially one-dimensional, including an annoying montage where the character-lacking characters realize how awesome they are together, with a bombardment of 'realization' looks.Perhaps going even more in the carefree direction, away from plot, the sort of stuff that generally makes movies good... would've made for a better movie. More in the spirit of those wolf moments that make absolutely no sense but were fun to watch. As it is, the film falls uncomfortably in the middle. Fortunately there's lots to enjoy, even love, so it's certainly worth checking out when the better stuff gets out of the way.

Other than that, the musical number at the end, and Matthew Lillard's commentary between skits, are the highlights of this movie. If it's on, it might be watched. If not, I'm not seeking it out.
