Dean M (nl) wrote: Good short animated film included on Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths running for 11 minutes as this title role of the film is a classic, though rather predictable, detective story. But the scenes involving the Spectre, glowing green eyes swirling cape and inhuman voice adding to air of creepiness, are genuinely scary with a couple of real shocks.

Great performances too of course, several from people I hadn't heard of before; wish there had been more from the 100+ hours of footage they have (maybe DVD extras?).

Frank discovers a sunken submarine and he crew wants to cash in on their find by robbing a cruise liner. There's an out of place jazzy score, a odd Ocean's 11-like crew (including the gorgeous Virna Lisi) and one of the strangest heist getaway chase you'll ever see. A seagoing heist film involving a submarine is pretty original, but the characters and plot points are all pretty by the numbers, which is surprising considering that Rod Serling wrote the screenplay, who is normally very reliable for turing out smart, original scripts. Not a bad film, but certainly not one of Frank or Serling's best.
Panta O (ca) wrote: Interesting documentary which focuses on a lioness named Ma di Tau ("Mother of Lions") as she battles to protect her cubs against the daunting onslaught of enemies to ensure their survival. The film is narrated by (not very inspiring) Jeremy Irons and the underlying message of the film is on the low population of large cats in the world and whether or not Ma di Tau and her cubs are among the last lions... of course if you put $10 out of your pocket somehow you can save them... My problem with this documentary is that not everything seemed real... yes, I know that the nature could be amazing but some of the events depicted in this story just did not match or made sense, and when you see that final result is very impressive and exiting dramatic effect - you start wondering what else in the story was "touched up".
