Momoa weaves a tale of the price he pays and how his choices impact others around him. The unexpected ending threw me which made the story more resonating. I enjoyed this movie and hope it is not the only work Momoa directs.

Norris looks lost in the movie, often smiling for no apparent reason, and the serial killer scenes are all the same (necks snap, and snap, and snap). A couple of good scenes here and there, but Golan-Globus strike again.

The only let down is the re-use of War of the Worlds war machine special effects(minus the heat rays, and sound effects repeatedly as the alien space ships...really disappointing. Adam West has a small role.

The melodrama is something of a blind-spot for me, and this seemed like a great way to start remedying that.Well worth a rental.
