Josip S (nl) wrote: Bleak but interspersed with typical Balkan black humour. The bus scene is best with the young thug terrorizing other passengers. Nice gypsy band too. An interesting look at post-war Belgrade.

Dylan P (ag) wrote: A good comedy. I have recently been on the quest to watch every single one of Michael Moore's movies and I just got to this one, his only non documentary film. I was certainly curious to see what it would be like. It provided some great political satire, mostly of American foreign policy and a little bit of capitalism and corporate america. Other than the political satire, the jokes were lacking but the political satire was very funny. So if you aren't political or political but not left wing this won't do much for you at all. If you are a fan of Moore and are left wing and political well it is a good movie you might want to try it.

Alexis G (fr) wrote: Loved John Candy and Macaulay Culkin in this, Uncle Buck is a great film and gives a beautiful message. The actors were great, there was plenty of humor and drama to make the situations realistic and believable. Highly recommend this film to all :)

Mike V (de) wrote: The action, the drama, the music, the costumes, and the fact that this is based on a true story always combine to give me a lump in my throat. Compulsory viewing prior to any Olympic Games. Inspirational. My favourite film of 1981. AAW 1001

Jennifer C (it) wrote: There was murder most foul, but it was a production most brilliant. With two power houses behind its production (The Royal Shakespeare Company and the BBC) and two brilliant Shakespearean actors (David Tennant and Patrick Stewart) it is impossible to ruin such a grand tale.David played the part perfectly (and attractively). His madness smacks a bit of the Tenth Doctor at first but the viewer soon separates herself from that and takes the character on his own merits. As to Hamlet's grief and struggle it was so well defined that he could have conveyed the torment just as with half as many lines. The costumes were traditionally contemporary and the use of mirrors and CC TV cuts to enhance the reflections of truth in the midst of all the spying was brilliant.Best production of (Hamlet) I have ever seen.

Alonso A (nl) wrote: In Magnolia, Paul Thomas Anderson breaks the paradigms and did a 3 hour prophetic movie. Right from the start we see the idiosyncratic nuances of a master storyteller, as the narrator gives us three urban legends that show us ''coincidence'' , a theme that cements the conceptual base for the movie. The film has 5 different plots, and 8 different main characters. Dealing with a large variety of themes and stories, Magnolia manages to take us deep into the characters and their inner crisis through deep introspection, which works due to the outstanding acting from every single role and the inspired directing of Anderson, who takes us through this tragic journey in almost lyrical manner that pays off beautifully.
