Aaron M (mx) wrote: I would say The Lifeguard is a light drama but is pretty much lifeless throughout. Its not particularly funny nor thought provoking but more a tiny crisis in a pretty dead end town. Theres a hint of interesting characters but is quickly forgotten due to the movies flat tone and uninspiring nature to surprise anyone. Like the main character the film didn't really know what way to go and it feels like it eventually Garcia ran out of ideas.

Patrick W (jp) wrote: amazing how many of these people from this movie are now household names. I did not think Cumberbatch could be any thinner. He could turn sideways and slide between the crack of the door and frame.
Jamie C (ca) wrote: Good funny film but goes a little flat near the end, Some great special effects and action and some nice comedy bits thrown in.
William H (gb) wrote: visually stunning (everything has a blue glare) but rather depressive atmosphere, very bleak, story was not that captivating. A 9 out of 10 for cinematography, 5/10 overall.

Omar C (au) wrote: When you see a movie about an artist is because you admire his work and you want to know more and identify yourself with him. This movie does exactly the opposite. Now I care less about Van Gogh than before. Almost no art, no passion, no madness and he doesn't even cuts his ear off! What a scam... I'm giving it 1 star because it made me laugh... a bit.
Yannick D (us) wrote: Although the decision to fully animate the characters helps them blend in with the digital environment it doesn't do the movie great favours in its aging process. Put that and some anatomical silliness aside however and you will find Beowulf to be an expressively poetic thrill ride.
Dave C (ru) wrote: Absolutely one of the worst movies I have ever seen - and it has Bruce Willis and is set in Vegas!
Jeremy S (nl) wrote: Liked it better than Divorce, Italian Style. Dragged on a little at the end, though. What a dark comedy should be!
Bradley J (gb) wrote: This movie drowns itself in annoying quirkiness. The leads are talented, but the film is a bland coming-of-age tale that is nowhere near as poignant or fun as the similar The Way Way Back. Catch that instead and leave this trying to hard to be hipster and cool movie on the backburner. Rating: 43
