He kills armed robbers and meth dealers in the most brutal fashion. A fellow cop becomes suspicious, but his best friend totally embraces his friend's new form. Pretty damn good script and the effects are old-school rather than cgi.

Jamie C (kr) wrote: A very dark tale of the well known Scrooge tale that is full of dark humour, The film starts off well but gets abit too serious and weird but a good performance by Bill Murray just about gets us through the weird stuff, It's not for kids as some bits may scare them.

John Eric D (ag) wrote: This film reflects the essence on the importance of a family member, especially the parents. It reminds me of some soap opera on some Asian TV shows. But the story is so heavy with a dark drama element that you will remember for a long time. The only problem I have with the film is the interaction between the characters as they look at the cameras. It is kind of weird to me. But beyond that, every performance is fantastic. I love how Ozu made a family oriented drama traditionally in a Japanese way. Definitely a must watch. Lesson learned, treat your mother, father, brother and sisters as long as you still live with them and see them happily alive. 4 out of 5 stars.
Christopher S (ru) wrote: Early effort from writer-director Billy Wilder is an ingeniously designed wartime thriller. Intricately-plotted with energetic performances by Franchot Tone and Erich von Stroheim (though Akim Tamiroff's comic-relief Arab is a bit over the top) and excellent black and white cinematography by John Seitz (this is one of the first Hollywood films to really utilize chiaroscuro lighting effects, which became popular in film noirs a few years later). Wilder would go on to make a number cinematic masterpieces, but this is a strong early start.
