(ag) wrote: A documentary showing the human side to the marines and the work they do in Afghanistan and at home. It raises a lot of questions, but gives no answers. It also was not as bleak as Hurt Locker.
(gb) wrote: oh great canadian humor. yeah i coulda seen this movie going into bin there done that territory but it somehow kept it fresh. Very funny characters and plot and kept me laughing throughout, especially closer to the end. Very good, and the tag lin on the cover describes it perfectly boasting it as a cross between spinal tap and trailer park boys.

(ag) wrote: Note that this superior film, about working together, moving forward, and the power of music, received nothing like the publicity afforded Dreamgirls. No other American film-maker working today matches the soul/heart/humanity of John Sayles (the equal of Ken Loach or the Dardennes).

(nl) wrote: Horrible beyond imagining, this film dwells within the shadows cast by unthinkable darkness. The term "grey zone" may refer to the stiffling air clotted with human ashes in which Jews processed the deaths of other Jews, or perhaps the moral ambiguity of survival within the machinery of death but there is nothing grey or ambiguous about this film. It is intended to disturb you. It will.
(de) wrote: Huppert and Chabrol again - love the actress, irritated by the director as usual. The film is too arch and the ending is forced.
(kr) wrote: Very well done made for BBC tv movie. BBC's made for tv films are better than most of the movies that make it to our big screen. Helen Mirren is one of the best actresses around, so that definitely added to it all....
(es) wrote: An adaptation of...duh...Frankenstein. And much like Frankenstein's monster, this movie is bizarre, loud, and fun to watch. And just when you think it doesn't have much more to offer, the disturbing finale is something to talk about.

(es) wrote: An entertaining movie that starts out as a college stoner movie and ends as bdsm torture porn. With pretty much nudity half of screen time this movie starts out looking like you ever day run of the mill teen movie, yet about halfway through the movie the directing stile changes, the lights get darker and the pans get wider, all signals of more of a horror movie directing style. Not an intelectual movie by any stretch and but if torture porn, breasts and weed are of your interest this is the perfect movie. However i will say, while i had fun watching it, this movies not very complex so i dont see myself rewatching it, not worth then 8$ buy.
