Andrew H (fr) wrote: fantastic performance, from a band with longevity and the ability to still punk it up with the best of them, the american idiot album is a refreshing pace to other mainstream albums of 2005. its a themed album about the current u.s state of political affairs.

bill d (mx) wrote: This movie is my childhood favorite. It requires heavy suspension of disbelief. However, once you just go with it, the movie is brilliantly simple and entertaining. Who doesn't love seeing movies that use 80's lingo?

Craig M (us) wrote: Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson are at their very best as they match wits in this manhunt set in the Canadian wilderness in 1931. Marvin's performance is outstanding.

Stefanie C (es) wrote: a war that is losing it's meaning, cast in a befiitingly stark baltic landscape, is juxtaposed against an ambiguous and ambivalent relationship. some well-shot scenes evoking sophie's many psychological states. unforgettable finale.

Matthew L (kr) wrote: The fourth in Hammers Frankenstein franchise that takes a while to get going but is worth sticking with, as it raises a lot of questions, regarding the soul and identity or in the case of this film gender identity. Cushing is reliable as ever as The Baron, but special mention must go to Thorley Walters as Doctor Hertz who for all is bumbling balances out The Barons mean streak. One for Hammer purists only as by this point the franchise bore little resemblance to the source material but had successfully created an identity of its own, thanks largely to Cushing.

Aj V (it) wrote: The beginning and ending of this movie are horrible, for one thing, West's character dies in the first scene! Putting the story of Crusoe in space was probably their first mistake.

Simon M (ca) wrote: With 17 minutes of original footage missing, Kurosawa's debut film is somewhat weak on flow and coherence. But what remains is still a visually strong film, beautifully composed and edited.

Tim S (au) wrote: Strange Invaders is a more modern nod (1983 modern, that is) to classic sci-fi films like Invasion of the Body Snatchers from director Michael Laughlin, who also directed the film Strange Behavior. It was to be the second part of a trilogy of "Strange" films, but only two were ever made. The film itself is technically good, but fails in pace and story. The performances aren't much better either, specifically from Paul Le Mat and Diana Scarwid, the former of which is a total flatline and the latter is just terrible with her delivery. Louise Fletcher does her job pretty well and Nancy Allen is, well, Nancy Allen, like she is in everything, but not bad. It's an admirable attempt, and sort of succeeds, but it's mostly boring. The special effects are pretty good, and it's shot pretty well, but sadly not as exciting as I'd hope it would be. Good effort though.
