The kid actors are terrific, and the effects are outstanding to look at with images that look very frightening. The characters are really good, and are actually like kids these days. The story is very imaginative, original, and very creepy. It has some funny moments that lightens up the film from not traumatizing the little kids. It has creepy moments that would scare the kids a lot, but I think of it as a sign of growing up and living up the fears so that the kids won't be able to be afraid of anything, at least that's what I think of it. Monster House is a very smart kids movie that is a lot of fun to watch.

The critics hated it but it is nice to see a drama with good acting that can be enjoyed by all ages. This heartwarming story about helping others is not without its clichs, predictable plot developments, and cheesy sentimentality. There aren't any major twists to catch us off guard and most aspects of the story have been seen in other films; still, the simplicity of the story and PG-rated content make this a good introduction into "real" dramas for preteens. Cuba Gooding Jr.'s performance is difficult to rate. His youthful look works in his favor as the 35-year-old actor plays the 18ish-year-old titular character in the film. His acting is a complete transformation from what we are used to seeing and there are times that you would believe that he is actually disabled, but there are also moments where it seems overacted. This is definitely not his "Rain Man" or "I Am Sam" role. Ed Harris is good but lacks the spark that we expect from such an established actor. My favorite performance in the film comes from Alfre Woodard as the principal that must mediate between the community and what is best for Radio. It delivers on the sports sequences that draw in male audiences but the film misses the potential of tying racism more strongly into the plot (maybe they were trying to avoid comparisons to "Remember the Titans" which came out 3 years earlier). Although I enjoyed revisiting this movie, I was more impressed with "Radio" as a high school student than I was as an adult. Perhaps that is the greatest testament to it being a good transitional film that parents can enjoy with their younger viewers.

Rainer K (kr) wrote: This is Gaspar No's debut flick - the one and only No who brought us the awesome but disturbing little film Irrversible.Like the latter, Seul Contre Tous is style over substance in brutal and violent perfection. It explores all dark sides of the human mind and body very graphically and I'm not doubting the devastating effect it can have on certain viewers. No works with long takes interrupted by jump cuts which are accompanied by gunshot sound effects (which has a similar effect like the drumbeats in Haydn's Surprise Symphony only that there's nothing to fall asleep in this film in the first place).I also liked the voice-over work which narrates the movie. The language is genuine and the content sums up all the favourite themes of white trash - homophia, racism, class war. But it also tells a saddening story of a man you feel kinda miserable for and who hadn't much luck in life. Especially the inner dialogue at the end is amazing so don't turn it off when the disclaimer comes up.I liked this even more than Irrversible, it's maybe not as violent or disgusting but emotionally even more effecting the narrative gimmicks are top-notch again.

Robyn M (ca) wrote: Waiting to exhale has fresh script and a great sound track. I really enjoyed the balance of good humor and serious depth of the story that unfolded.Althought a Typical chick flick, it's highly anticapated debute wasn't worth the hype. If your needing a good cry heres the movie. Whitney Huston is spectacular!

Amy A (nl) wrote: I loved this movie in 1990 and still rate it today. Please review it for what it is and when it was made. Of course it doesn't compare to current thrillers but if you have some taste and are a connesseur of '90 movies then you can't go past this one.

Emily C (us) wrote: I saw this movie many years ago. For the time it was "racy". Good acting. My, how the times have changed. Those actors would not believe what is in the movies today.

John A (gb) wrote: Often hailed as Hitchcock's last great film, Frenzy follows common ground as far as Hitchcock thrillers go, but this time with a morbid twist. The "Necktie Murderer" has the London police on red alert & an innocent man is on a desperate quest to find the real criminal & clear his own name. For its time it was clichd with the new style twist, the film features a great plot, story, pacing & atmosphere. It's Hitchcock back to his best one final time, with a styled thriller that the director knows best. This is worth a watch, especially with the the way the classic thriller incorporates violent sexual murders successfully, which was a new idea for its time.

Jude P (jp) wrote: Better we do not say arcane things like critics, but we are sent to a surreal state by the theme and the magnificent performance by the cast . Its a pity that average US morons do to affect other Innocent persons lives thus the story is fictional the same like situation aught to be happening somewhere, perhaps daily ?

Scott M (jp) wrote: The movie was interesting, dealing with the phase, "The eyes are the windows to the soul". And, mit I add, does it almost beautifully, and definitely worth the watch. Disclaimer: This film would be most likely very scientifically inaccurate.
