(ca) wrote: This movie is great! Obviously, if you are in the mood for a heartwrenching drama such as Schindler's List, please don't watch this and give it a terrible review. But if you like and want to see one of the best campy horror movies you will see, this is it!
(kr) wrote: What do you say? You try to be fait and not judge it beforehand and then it gives you the exact bad movie you had expected.Funny though how the story is tried to be presented in cuts without emotions or character. Even the cuts in the action sequences take a whole lot of it away and let the whole film look like a trailer. But well... as I said... it's funny

(fr) wrote: This was a film that I hadn't revisited since the VHS days and was happy to give another day in court via a cheap DVD that I'd picked up ages ago. The movie holds up really well and still packs a nice balance of charm, special effects and some really creepy visuals. Peter Jackson was truly a man ahead of his time.Recommended.

The meaning of life is overcoming fear according to this movie. This is just accepted without discussion. I think the film lacked thought and depth about a subject that is about as deep as there is. It had its feel-good moments, but this film was a disappointment for me.
(ag) wrote: I must, first, compliment the pure craftsmanship put into telling this story. It's a great filmmaking 1-0-1, so to speak. Packed from top to bottom with gorgeous and gritty cinematography, a great cast of leading men/women and talented character actors, a dramatic and involving story with subtext and importance, and a script that cuts you to your core. Bottom line it's great storytelling with something meaningful to say.
