McDull is not the brightest kid on the block, but he continuously tries to do his best to please his mother. Still it seems he may not be destined for great things like she wishes, but McDull strives to try anyway.

Brian A (kr) wrote: This movie delves deep into several different emotions that are the human condition. It faces not only the inevitability of death but what happens when your life's love passes on and leaves you behind. The delicate friendship between an older man in pain and younger beautiful compassionate female are shown exquisitely. Michael Cain and Clemence Poesy are perfectly cast for this movie. I was just yearning for Matthew to find peace for his life, and the ending left me a little disappointed. A great film showcasing the beauty of France. Another great movie that got almost perfect ratings on Netflix but "professional critics" on this site hated. Trust me I think if you watch you will connect with it like I did.

Carlos M (kr) wrote: A poignant character study, melancholy and sad, about a man facing a desolate moment in his life when all hope seems lost, everything left is despair and he sees no reason to keep on trying, and it relies on a compelling performance by Anders Danielsen Lie.

Ryan L (fr) wrote: This movie was okay, but it was kinda disappointing and not as good as I was hoping it would be. Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro do a great job in this film and I'm a big fan of both their works, but aside from that, the story is a bit dull and dry until the end. Since you pretty much know who the killer is from early on in the movie, the suspense is left in finding out the motivations behind the killer's actions. It unravels a bit slowly and it really doesn't get that thrilling till the end, and by then it's a bit late.

Paul Z (us) wrote: Living in Finland must be the most demoralizing possible human experience. Their movies are rarely over 60 minutes long, very little is said during that time and life is portrayed as excruciating when it's not dull and uneventful. And yet one can glimpse a sense of humor through it all. And there's something beautiful about that.

Zach M (kr) wrote: Not the worst movie in the world and it definitely falls into the 'so bad it's fun to watch' category. You are always guessing whether the killer will be played by a different actor or not. It's a girl then a guy, a tall person and shorter person. Quite funny.Lots of unattractive nudity and a lot of deaths from nails.

Anthony I (ru) wrote: Whimsical, maddening and covered in blood. El Topo is one of the greatest surrealist films ever made. The imagination runs wild, and never stops. It's crafted so carefully and beautifully, despite being so shamelessly brutal in parts. But at it's core, it's a true western. What it does to the western genre, on the other hand, is completely unexpected, and entertaining as hell.

Rui M (fr) wrote: Very intelligent WW2 prison camp film. Cast is excellent, especially George Segal who is magnetic.

Jenna G (es) wrote: This could be watched JUST for Bette Davis and Joan Crawford and their insane performances, but it's a really good movie besides the two stars. They certainly help, especially Davis, but the campy, dark wit and creepiness of the movie make it worth seeing as well.

Daniel K (de) wrote: It's a great example of a Navy film. It's not the best, this probably falls to Ford, but Lean does an admirable job here. Coward was smart enough to leave at least some of it to him and more so in later pictures. I doubt the occasional heavy handedness is due to Lean, but there are more than enough good scenes to make up for it. WWII propaganda pieces are not usually this good. It was definitely made even more potent by the fact that my base was taking incoming fire while the men on the ship were themselves being fired upon in the film.
