THOMAS S (kr) wrote: This movie was just amazing and entertaining supernatural and action packed movie to set in a 1890's with high-grade special effects and the kind of raw action scenes the world is coming to expect from Thailand.
Aldo G (it) wrote: This is one of those quirky scripts that draws fascinating characters and an intriguing storyline. The cast must of trembled with delight when reading through Diablo Cody's first film script about a high school-aged girl facing pregnancy.Even supporting characters with small roles have opportunities to utter great lines:Vanessa Loring: How do I look?Bren: Like a new mom. Scared shitless. It's a feel good movie, that might make you a little nauseous with so much darling dialogue, but the odds are you'll love Juno. I did.
Grant H (es) wrote: Bad movie. The story is chock-full of clichs, the characters are uninteresting, but the action and direction are decent. My biggest issue is that a movie taking place in 1800's Mexico and features primarily Hispanic actors/characters, EVERYONE speaks English. Even the poor farmers living in the middle of the desert.
Bank K (au) wrote: As if you ARE the last life in the universe itself, watching "Last Life in the Universe" both corrodes and comforts you at the same time.
Frank N (it) wrote: Interesting, but confusing and incredibly slow.
Jonathan S (es) wrote: Spalding Gray rambles away about many subjects. Reminded me of "Stephen Tobolwski's Birthday."
Nina L (de) wrote: One of the most pessimistic movie on love that I've ever seen. It isn't as surrealist as Belle de Jour or Viridiana. Nonetheless, it's a good movie.
Jon B (us) wrote: British New Wave classic with imagination and a ridiculously charismatic Tom Courtenay and a stunning Julie Christie in her first film. Briefly, the plot revolves around a young man trying to escape a dead-end small town. Expertly directed by John Schlesinger, but the real standout to me was Denys Coop's cinematography -- he's maybe best known for his visual effects work on Superman, but also shot some real great films including Bunny Lake is Missing.
Aniko V (de) wrote: a good classic gangster-law court drama, inspired by Lucky Luciano's demise.
Marion R (gb) wrote: There is a lot of neat stuff in here, the special effects of the ghost of Mabuse was just so cool, but in other parts the film dragged. All I wanted to do was to edits some scenes out, the unbearable long fire scene at the chemical plant, ,but especially the flashback scenes which I felt were unnecessary. Overall it was just okay.
Brian S (fr) wrote: Pretty good remake, but since I saw the original film and know that plot line, I wish they added a new twist or interpret the source material differently. But the film is just an update of the original.
