In one scene, the main character (ineptly played by Hanna Oldenberg) thinks there's still a pretty good chance that it's Carl she hears skulking about even after she's seen the killer with her own eyes. Spoiler alert: It's (still) not Carl!!! You also get plenty of instances of people leaning against doors that the killer can stab through, and characters opting not to call the police for no apparent reason. Let's not forget the cliche about the terrified girl who picks up a weapon to fend off her attacker, uses it once, and then throws it down and runs off without it. That one is in there at least twice.

The nicley well-written (by James L. Brooks, who also produced), Alan J. Pakula's direction is solid and the supporting cast are aslo really good. A great, likeable film.

However, after seeing the film, Eastwood does a good job with the material, and you could see evidence of his great work as a director to come.Although I haven't seen it, from what I hear Fatal Attraction is pretty much a remake of this film (and I honestly want to see that film to compare the two) so for those of you familiar with that I don't want to waste a lot of time on plot. As a film it's pretty good. It's not a great thriller, but it is enjoyable and it is progressive. Eastwood does a good job at putting us in his shoes. You first start to get annoyed at Evelyn (his stalker), and as the film goes on you gradually get to the point of just wanting to practically strangle her, and the film worked in that way. I thought the actress who played her (Jessica Walter) did a good job at playing her two sides. Eastwood of course isn't without mentioning. He's practically playing himself, but it's still fun to watch him and he does a good job. In terms of its flaws it does come across rather dated. The cinematography isn't great, and the camerawork does get rather sloppy at some parts, especially during the attack scenes. There are also other moments where it's not great, and I was rather confused at the part near the beginning why many of the shots were so far away when shooting the scene of Eastwood and his girlfriend talking. I guess it's supposed to show the distance between the two, but I don't know how much I'd buy that. Again, the suspense isn't great, and the dialogue isn't great either at times.Overall, as a thriller, it's pretty good. Of course, it's no Psycho, but I found it rather enjoyable. As a movie, it's still pretty good, and worth a watch, mainly for the thriller aspect and the fact that it is Eastwood's directorial debut. To close off, if you ever thought having an affair was a good idea, then watch this movie and your mind will be changed.

I was forced to look at it on a bus ride up and well, I figured I should review it in order to ensure that you stay away from it.This movie is terrible; extremely terrible. The plot; Lord. Basically, it's a boy and a girl who make a promise when they're about to leave college that if in 10 years they aren't seeing someone, they'd get married. It's a 'been there, done that' plot, but it's executed so terribly that it was unbearable. The journey of the main character is really superficial and his narrating voice is flat and non-sensical. To be honest I don't even want to get into this review that much because of all the flaws I can list. Let me just say that the plot is terrible, the actors cannot act and the resolution was ridiculous. Do not watch. 1/10 The movie only gets 1 because Hayley Duff is pretty. That is all.
