Lee M (ca) wrote: The characters natter endlessly and summon printed quotes from Jean Cocteau, Mark Twain and e.e. cummings onto the screen. But they say nothing that's original, insightful or even interesting.

Richard S (us) wrote: I don't usually watch music documentaries but I'd heard good things about this and I've waited a number of years for it to be released in the UK.It's obviously only going to be of interest to people who have seen the film Once and are fans of Glen Hansard / Marketa Irglova / The Swell Season. It charts the sudden rise in fame of the stars after their oscar win and how this damaged their relationship off stage. It's beautifully filmed and one of the most intimate documentaries you're likely to see. Really worth seeing as a companion piece to Once.

Ceph J (mx) wrote: The script is mediocre: a sort of "Ordinary People" (family tragedy with mother and son) and "Witness" (bad guys after a peaceful family on a farm). Sissy Spacek is always a good actress but plays a standard mother earth role here. Troy Garity is too brooding in the part and is no fun to watch. The kid played by Colin Ford is straight from a Hollywood Casting agency i.e. too mannered. Dave Matthews as a killer is interesting but he looks like he wandered from the "Pulp Fiction" movie set. I respect independent films but this script feels like it was only a first draft.

Caleb C (mx) wrote: I remember watching this film, and I mostly dreaded everything about it. Not sure why a vast majority of critics liked this one. I may need to see it again to form a different opinion on it, but I'm not really sure that it is worth the time, unless someone reccommends it.

Jeff K (nl) wrote: Its an alright movie if one likes silly plots and questionable historical reality.

Sandy R (mx) wrote: My first viewing of Stuart Gordon's Castle Freak starring regular actor Jeffrey Combs. A solid and entertaining mid 90s straight to video horror title.

Deadly V (au) wrote: An unfunny and rather bland film with little going for it
