A very well executed thriller, I like the interaction of scenes between the negotiations of both ends. It's not just focusing on the site of action, but also focuses the part of the guys who are trying to save the day. It's agonizing, thinking of the hostage situation. It's gripping thinking somebody should get hurt at any time. Needless to say the cost is life. The acting in this film is brilliant. And this is one of those slow paced films that never get me bored. Very well made Danish film. Not just that, it is very memorable. It's a must watch. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Dan B (ru) wrote: Awesome 50's style sci-fi B movie. I was even surprised that I jumped out of fear a couple of times. The acting was fun, but the filmwork and lighting was really, really great. To be a cheese-puff movie, this had a lot of content. You gotta catch it if you can.

Johnathon W (es) wrote: Holiday musical classic, that while has dated slightly, remains a standout in the careers of Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire. The two leads give superb performances, notably Crosby singing "White Christmas" on film for the first time (this was the movie it was actually introduced and won the Oscar for Best Song) along with Fred Astaire's immortal firecracker dance (which he did with actual firecrackers). Astaire also is fun in a slightly more shady role as a man with a record of stealing his best friend girls, while Majorie Reynolds makes an appealing love interest. Behind the camera, Mark Sandrich uses the 'holiday inn' concept to great effect, and combined with the great Irving Berlin's music, deliver a great number for each holiday. It has dated slightly, particularly when Crosby performs 'Abraham' in black face (it should be noted, Crosby was a great champion of racial equality, having worked with black jazz musicians early in his career & personally fighting for Louis Armstrong's film career) and the Thanksgiving joke about what day it falls on will be lost unless you knew how FDR stupidly tried to change it on the belief that it would extend the holiday shopping season (central planners are so dumb). Overall, this remains one of the great musicals of all time, and since it gave us 'White Christmas' and begins & ends on the holiday, a great addition to the Christmas music rotation.
