Lovro H (mx) wrote: Brilliant film! You don't even have to be a whovian, or even know what a whovian is, to enjoy it! The true story of how Doctor Who was created is funny, cute, and at the same moment heartbreaking and sad... The ending made me cry a lot, and I'm sure you would cry just the same once you see it. David Bradley made a great W. Hartnell, and there wasn't too much difference between them, except their voice. All in all, a great drama and a must see for all whovians!

It was really depressing, I found myself crying through most of it. As a supporter of democrats, it was somewhat disheartening to see how many democrats actually went along with the war initially. However, the most important part of the documentary was seeing this handicapped veteran and his brave commitment to telling the truth about Iraq.

Plot is fairly nonexistent and what there is is contrived, pretentious and unrealistic. The acting could not have been worse. It's amazing that Mickey Rourke's career survived after this piece of crap. (Thankfully, it did, as his performance in The Wrestler was brilliant). Clearly Jacqueline Bisset's career was on the wane, and she was thus desperate for any sort of role, for her to agree to appear in this.Avoid.

The main character is apolitical and is just taking his opportunities where they arise and progresses from a character I didn't care for into someone who didn't seem quite as bad at the end; basically the movie presents a study in the banality of evil.
Justin W (kr) wrote: if you wanna see some fantastic cinematography, then this is a good horror movie to watch. unfortunately, the story is kinda splotchy. had the story itself been better, this film may be a bit better known. but as it is, it's still a decent film.

JC E (mx) wrote: I read a few reviews after I watched this movie, since I didn't really know how to formulate my thoughts on it. While I do agree with some that thought it felt a bit too sitcom-y, I don't really think that's an outright reason to not like the film. Then I thought again. The majority of critics probably didn't like the film for one reason, and one only: the protagonist, Kim (Krysten Ritter - 'She's Out of My League'), didn't have an abortion. It's the only logical conclusion for the flick not garnering a healthier critical appeal. Now, does that mean that the story really has strong legs to stand on? Not really, but it's still funny to boot, and features a hilarious but heartfelt lead performance from Ritter, and some charming co-starring players including Kate Bosworth (Straw Dogs), Rachel Bilson ("How I Met Your Mother"), and Geoff Stults (She's Out of My League) - the sooner you forget that Jason Biggs (American Pie) is in this flick, the better. It's funny, has some delightfully awkward chemistry, and is incredibly frank in parts. Also, Bilson's character, while portrayed as somewhat aloof, isn't demeaned due to her beliefs - a rarity for Christian characters in movies these days. It's not the greatest movie out there, but it's a nice comedy that does cherish life, no matter how inconvenient it may be.
