(nl) wrote: I am too old for these films. Please stop making these. If you thought Starship Troopers 1+2 were cheesy, this takes it to a completely new level. Ludicrously serious, one can't help ridicule it with laughter. Casper Van Dien was solid. D-/+

So I am willing to give this movie a chance :)= I hope I am not dissapointed. I just saw this film. it came in yesterday. Anyways guys you should definitely see this movie, its alot of fun. Nice creature effects, and its pretty hard to find. Only a few were made, try AMAZON. But one of my favorites by FULLMOON. Thank you for not letting me down on this one. :)
(es) wrote: A rich and delectable "food western" from Juzo Itami that steadily supplies laughter and sumptuous imagery. Itami approaches his narrative with a sense for experimentation that might give Jean-Luc Godard whiplash, but the film's seemingly tangential trajectories never feel gratuitous. There are just so many great scenarios present here (Best. Food. Sex. Ever!), and it's hard to think of another movie that uses iris dissolves to such great comedic effect as Tampopo. It is a dish best described as such: it's very Asian cuisine, with enough western spicing to really give it its own unique flavor.

(nl) wrote: What more can be said about this film? Well, saying it's the unqualified masterpiece of all Asian cinema is a start.
(fr) wrote: a pretty good film about doomed lovers. henry fonda plays a 3-time loser paroled and reunited with his girlfriend. he tries to go straight but ends up taking a rap for a crime he didn't commit - this means he goes down for good. there's a jailbreak and from then on it's pure tragedy.director fritz lang explores some interesting themes here, such as people's attitudes toward ex-cons and how popular opinion can prevent someone from getting a fair trial.
(it) wrote: Murder mystery with a musical backdrop shows its age but has some interesting numbers in particular Duke Ellington's orchestra's production and the now infamous Marijuana number with discreetly covered but unquestionably topless showgirls. Lost in amongst the hundreds of hopeful showgirls and chorus boys are Lucille Ball, Ann Sheridan and Alan Ladd all still years away from any kind of fame and hard to spot. The acting is okay but this is more of a curio as a good example of some of the things that were common before the code, implied or actual nudity, drug references and occasional swearing that would disappear for almost 3 decades when the Hayes code took full effect within a very short time after this film premiered.
