Maxim A (fr) wrote: Sometimes, I may compromise if a certain movie tries to revive some moments of another or being a remake of it. This one I can't. It's unoriginal, cliched and another bloated action picture by Michael Bayformers. The movie is split into two genres:-A somewhat decent Sci-Fi with good performances by its leads, but completely inexcusable product placement. There were like 35 products of which 7 were shown more than twice. It was awful. I watched this actually with a friend of mine and I wanted to turn it off because it was too much for me, but he insisted to watch it until the end.-Another loud and bombastic crapfest of CGI, car chases and explosions that are getting repetitive and useless. With this movie, Michael Bay proves anything about money but nothing about hard work. It's now official, he cares more about what's outside than what's inside (in terms of plot coherency, good script and smart direction). I consider it very average. When I saw the opening, I felt it was gonna be promising with startling performances, but it turned out to be a 136 minute commercial of useless products. This to me is by far the WORST EXAMPLE OF PRODUCT PLACEMENT EVER!Grade: C-Percentage: 35%Rating: 2,5/5

Matthew S (es) wrote: Quirky little movie based on a quirky very real story. Fact is stranger than fiction. And, perhaps that is where this film fails. For all the provocative scenes it feels as if something is being restrained or held back. Even still, Jim Carrey's performance is work of art within itself.

Sean M (us) wrote: Characters that aper at first glance as ignorant, racist and simply uninteresting slowly grow on you over the coarse of a gritty setting, inspiring dialogue and an ending that leaves your head throbing while you try and sleep at night.

Scott R (nl) wrote: Something I didn't know about, the music scene in Manchester in the 80s. Story was amazing, witty and vulgar. Yet it was poeticly epic and at the same time crazy. It stand as a symbol of shattered dreams of music. The one liners killed me, especially when God praises Tony Wilson's work and he says "Can I get it in writing?". A must see for punk and rave fans.

Koldo E (ca) wrote: We get dozens of 'chick-flicks' every year. And every once in a while a 'dude-flick' appears. This is one of them, and it's good.

Kevin D (de) wrote: Errol Flynn's best movie. Seriously. No foolin'.

Allen H (es) wrote: Sound: Great dramatic orchestral score; excellent use of patriotic, spiritual, and environmental music. It really drives the emotions and the story. 100/100 Technical: Lots of nice sound stage production. Great framing, exposure, shot composition, well crafted film, and well done sets. 90/100 Narrative: Some fictionalization to increase dramatic tensions. 85/100 Character/Acting: Great supporting cast and extras. There is just enough comedy to lighten the serious demeanor of the film. The characters are real and believable. Excellent job done by Cooper as his character arcs and struggles against his choices and convictions. 100/100 Did I like it: Yes, a very enjoyable film. 85/100 Artistic merit: A well done patriotic film based on responsibility and convictions. 90/100

Nasko M (br) wrote: The movie is more about Superman dying, than it is the action and suspense in it, which makes it tedious in some respects, however the Man of Steel having to inevitably face his own mortality gives way to some pretty interesting moments. Such as him restoring the Titanic (or some random ship in his Fortress). This is a movie that gets you thinking about death and how precious life really is, especially when you see Superman having to face that fact himself. Yes he has died before, but most of the time it's under abrupt circumstances like in Doomsday and we never really get to see much other than a very moving funereal like in Justice League (the series), which was done incredibly well. But this one is different because he actually has time to contemplate the fact that he's dying, making this a new experience. He does what most people do when they find out they're dying. He reveals his identity Lois and tries to spend more time with her, he takes the Bottle City of Candor to a new inhabitable planet and even manages to teach Lex Luther not to be a prick anymore. The movie is basically him tying up loose ends before his time comes. It's not perfect, the atmosphere is very "Meh" and you never really feel all that thrilled about things, but it does have a lot of heart so that makes it a win in my book.

Kendyl C (gb) wrote: Basket Case has a name that couldn't be any truer to the film. It's B-horror at its finest and it's so disastrous and gory, it's actually flattering.

Denise A (fr) wrote: It's a great movie. Felt bad Edie Sedgwick. I'm still trying to figure out Andy Warhol but I get his take on art & culture.

Mary J (ag) wrote: When a movie is so bad that not even Danny Trejo is entertaining in it, I think that says it all.
