Chantal Akerman, the Belgian filmmaker, lives in New York. Filmed images of the City are accompanied by the texts of Chantal Akerman's loving but manipulative mother back home in Brussels. The City comes more and more to the front while the words of the mother, read by Akerman herself, gradually fade away.

Ashish T (es) wrote: Pretty ok, in fact surprisingly so. Good comic timing, put together by someone who's (or has hired the right people who) spent enough time on the zombie genre, and it comes up in a couple of decent, well-placed scenes - I'll add a star for the Shaun of the Dead add-in - but overall, the movie's basically fairly loosely assembled, not a very coherent storyline (not that one's really needed) and some interesting new concepts, both origin and fighting. The music is absolutely brilliant and visual gags reasonably decent - and it doesn't become too self-conscious or too OTT.

Mandi L (it) wrote: Definitely disturbing, but I still wasn't convinced as to why these people continued to follow this man who's clearly a sociopath. They could have easily overthrown him and his authority. As far as creepy dangerous cult movies go....the film Faults did it way better.

Don G (au) wrote: Movie was dope and the song was great. One of those movies that really ties everything up nicely at the end too.

Lee B (nl) wrote: Yep, an eye-opening documentary. I knew a lot of what they showed, but so much more is highlighted. This is another of those films that should be required viewing. As a political documentary, this is spot-on. See it.As a documentary, it is a little scattered and probably could have dwelled on some points for longer. It might have given a more emotional involvement if it did sit on things for longer. Still, not too much to complain about.

R K (jp) wrote: Although this film may see much more weak compared to the other two films, this is still a classic Bridget story.

David B (it) wrote: In a mad world, only the mad are sane.

Jon H (it) wrote: Calling this one an action-comedy was a bit of a stretch as their is surprisingly little action (tho you do get to see Charles Martin Smith set Burt Reynolds on fire!) and very little comedy (much of which revolves around Raquel being the only female cop around). Great cast, tho most are wasted in throwaway roles.

cody f (br) wrote: Pre-code film about a debonair Jewel Robber (Powell of course) who robs jewelry stores and calms everyone down by giving them his special ciggerettes (Tickets to you Tim) and getting them high. Powell charms the pants off a Baroness and they fall in love. Not the best of Powell's films, but he so fucking charming and enjoyable to watch on screen it a must see if you are a Powell fan(Keith). The dope smoking is also enjoyable and Powell and Francis have a great repoir.
