Abhishek S (es) wrote: remake of niraj pandey's "A wednesday" is nowhere to close its original. The only reason i watched this movie was ben kinglsey. i was disappointed. There was no intensity from the characters , the back ground score did not match the tempo of the script, direction was poor.Even an actor as good as ben kinglsey could not pull this one.

Aaron B (de) wrote: In Thailand a butterfly Man is a guy who flitters from Girl to girl. Two years ago I met a very nice girl from Thailand who said she thought I would be a Butterfly Man if I wet to Thailand and she recommended that I see this movie. I did finally get to see it, and while I do not think I would be a "Butterfly Man" it did strengthen my desire to go see the country. There are scenes in the movie that can only be described as a cinematographers dream. The camera loves the land, not too mention the lead actress Napakaha Nakprasitte. Her way of peaking reminded me of almost every one of thwe friends I have made from Thailand. The movie does suffer from a bad cse of melodrama when it gets to the endings, and does seem to last about 10 minutes longer than it should. Still it is a decent movie that explores both the beautiful and seedy parts of the "Land of Smiles" and also serves as both a travelogue and a warning to the tourists. Chek it out.

Niloo R (au) wrote: i LOVED this film! it's hands down my favourite film from the 1920s. the story in this film was so simple yet so intriguing, the characters were heart-felt and emotive, even with their scarce use of dialogue. it was amazing how much the actors could emote with just a look or an expression - it was also fun to imagine what they might be saying at points. the cinematography was so innovative and exquisite, with the shots composed beautifully. the film was overall so much fun to watch, and captured so perfectly the essence of berlin under the weimar republic without confining itself to a niche or culturally specific audience.
Sean C (kr) wrote: While not as good as Pontecorvo's Battle of Algiers, this was still a very relevant film, even today. It pretty much shows how war can be sold by nations in favour of industry. I've read that originally the setting was to be a Spanish colony, but the Spanish government put pressure on the producers and it was eventually changed to a colony of Portugal. Also, the character that Marlon Brando plays was actually a real person, but he was American and his title of "Sir" was something he gave himself.
Kevin M (ru) wrote: Arnold Schwarzenegger: A man of many talents. He's been named as Mr. Universe, the Governor of the State of California, but above all, a movie star. The Last Action hero is a celebration of not only movies, but of Arnold and his symbol as an action star. A young kid named Danny is given a magic movie ticket by a hermit movie theater projectionist. Danny adores the action movies he watches and is engrossed in them. The ticket, however, quite literally engrosses him inside the world of the action movie. While he's in the world of the narrative, he meets Jack Slater (played by Arnold). Danny confuses Jack by calling him Arnold Schwarzenegger, and from there on, the movie's writing is surprsingly thoughtful. Charles Dance is the villain in the world of the narrative, and he's his usual badass self. Between Arnold's signature one-liners and a cool concept, the movie is precisely that: cool, like the rest of Arnold's flicks.

Jennifer B (mx) wrote: Beautiful tale of perfection and the need to control all leading to a near life-ending addiction. Followed by self-punishment, ultimately leading to redemption. Per usual, Bradley Cooper did an incredible job encompassing the lead character's sense of self, becoming Chef. Unique and refreshing, I highly recommend.
