True C (nl) wrote: White Rabbit (directed by Tim McCann) is a portrayal of a character Harlon Mackey (played by Nick Krause) who has been bullied all his life, living in an era which glorifies violence and has no one on his side. Without giving too much away I should say that this film is very well done technically and thematically, even if it can prove to be too hard to swallow for some given it's excessive brutality, dark story tones and turns. This is a very needed subject which requires more awareness. Although, how it will influence people remains to be seen. My verdict - 5/5 Stars.

Richard L (nl) wrote: It's a bad movie even by 1950's and 1960's science-fiction standards; it succeeds in having long parts and excessive external footage even though the movie is barely 1 hour 20 minutes long. Picture and sound quality, as well as acting, are fair, but the storyline has many plot dumps and is scientifically inaccurate at best. It's worth seeing just for the incredibly sexist variation on the "men going in outer space and meeting a race of women" theme.
Kyle K (nl) wrote: A good use of mixed media from WWII, well thought out. Although this brings the appearance of a long drawn out movie. At times the protagonist appears one dimensional and extremely apathetic. A shock in comparison to other films upon the same topic.
Brett H (mx) wrote: Quite possibly the most over-rated romantic comedy I've ever watched with a flimsy-as-hell plot and nothing at all happening beneath the surface; though it is salvaged by Tom Hanks' screen presence and the banter he has with his son. Watching this film today was like stepping back in time to the 50s when women were kept in a neat, little box and their only duties were to cook and clean; that's how ass-backwards this movie portrays women. Every single female character is a sappy, dependent, and unfulfilled woman who can only survive by being with a man and cries her eyes out watching romantic films; can you say stereotype? The main story is that Tom Hanks tragically loses his wife in a car accident and his son pimps him out over the radio to try and get him to move on with his life: great setup for the story, but it ultimately goes nowhere as we get Meg Ryan's character falling in love with him over the air and begins lying to her fianc so she can pursue this fantasy over and over again. And that's exactly what this film is; a fantasy that tries to convince you that this kind of world exists. As mentioned before, this film would've been a trainwreck if it wasn't for the talents of Tom Hanks who can make almost anything watchable and when he's on-screen the film works, but I checked out of this about halfway through as I found the cliches and stereotypes too unbearable; surprisingly this was directed by a woman too! I simply do not understand the love for this film.
