Tim M (kr) wrote: all I can say is damn... I've seen so many crappy movies based on Lovecraft that to finally see a really decent one is refreshing. I have no choice but to give this 4 stars. It's not a retelling of any of the stories, really; but is a telling of Lovecraftian style at it's best. Yes, I"d say if you enjoy Lovecraft watch this.

Aj V (br) wrote: I both loved and hated this movie. On one hand, we have a great message for both kids and adults to get involved with their families and communities to make a difference in each others lives for the good of all, and to have fun in life. But on the other hand, this was completely corny and cheesy, and the purple monster was stupid and annoying. I'd recommend having your kids watch it, but it'll be hard to watch it with them.

Larry S (kr) wrote: I recently went to see Just Go With It starring Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler. At the end of the credits it said it was based on the movie Cactus Flower. I had seen Cactus Flower in 1969 and remembered it much more fondly than Just Go With It which I had just watched. So I rented Cactus Flower to look at it again after all these years. Its still a very good movie. Dated? Yes. But it still has wonderful performances by Walter Mathau, Ingrid Bergman and Goldie Hawn in her well deserved Oscar winning supporting role. The story fits much better in the 1969 time period than its does today in the new remake. Skip Just Go With It and rent Cactus Flower.

Private U (us) wrote: I've also been obsessed with Lon Chaney and his son's horror work but only recently watched this film. I've probably rated higher than its probably worth because of the subject matter but there were some solid performances in it. It's a shame that there was so many factual changes which would naturally disappoint the Chaney fans and that includes me! At least there wasnt any stupid tacky special effects. Recommended to anyone who, like loves the silent film era

Jonathan K (jp) wrote: I didn't mind it. Swordfish wasn't a movie that I couldn't take my eyes off of, I watched it in spurts. It was still exciting enough that I felt like I needed to finish it. Not one I'll watch again anytime soon. Overall not bad

Kelly P (de) wrote: I really wanted to like this movie. It was filmed in and around Amherst, Ohio. The main character's look seems to be modeled after fallen from grace Olympian Tonya Harding. Then you meet Hope Ann and her attitude in the film is enough to turn you off. I kept watching because I like Melissa Rauch and was interested to see how many of the filming locations I would recognize. Quite a bit, actually. Sadly with all the crude jokes this film wouldn't even get bronze. One more thing, how the heck did they get Sebastian Stan to star in this...
