A bunch of philosophers give their take on life and what it means to be alive. Some are more enspiring than others. The discussion on disability and gender with Judith Butler was really eye opening but for me Cornel West is The Man. Loved his comparison of ideas with music. A cold shower for the brain.

The story of 2 young murders in a detention center. Are they lovers? One is found dead, who did it? I think the best part of the movie was the body tattoos. Is that shallow? See for yourself.

I would rate this higher, but why the masseur would go to such lengths to save a quintessentially helpless "damsel in distress" is not made clear. Fujimura's Omitsu is not a child but is as incapable of taking care of herself as a 3 year old. He could at least have muttered something about the "useless wench" instead of saying "I hope she makes someone a good wife". Otherwise plenty of slayings and morality lessons here. Fujiwara Reiko however gets a great role with Ohisa. A shame she didn't get a better exit.
