he enigmatic but vivid imagery of this loosely plotted film is based on a similarly evocative novel by the Italian author Antonio Tabucchi, Noturno Indiano. An old friend of the hero's has been living in Bombay with a prostitute. His friend Peter Schlemihl (Otto Tausig) is a concentration camp survivor, who went to India after being captivated by a photograph he saw there. When the prostitute writes to him in Europe asking that he rescue his friend from a mysterious malaise, he flies into India to try and help. When he gets to Bombay, he discovers that his friend has disappeared. Following the clues left behind by the friend, and based on his acquaintance with him, he journeys to Madras to speak to a Theosophist dignitary there, and then journeys on to Portugues Goa. With each step of his journey, the hero (Jean-Hugues Anglade) becomes more identified with his friend, and re-enacts in his own person the transformations he must have experienced.

Ryan S (jp) wrote: 3.5/5. A fun little slasher film that's much better than it should be.

Jose T F (jp) wrote: What the hell? This might have been funny during the 90s when teenagers could relate to the fashion and the way of living, but now it's just a tedious cliche of 90s teenagers. Not funny, bad story, characters going in and out of the screen all the time. It just felt so long... Anyway, what do I know? I was just 3 years old when it was released.

James O (br) wrote: Every successful film has imitators. Jaws had Tentacles, Piranha, and The Last Shark; Halloween had Offerings, Friday the 13th, and Sorority House Massacre; and Cannibal Holocaust had Cannibal Ferox. For those of you wondering what the title means, it basically translates to "Cannibal Ferocious". I feel its other title, Make Them Die Slowly, is more accurate though. Everything was good for the most part; The acting (the dubbing was pretty bad, though), the score, the build-up, the suspense, and the climax. It was a lot more enjoyable than Cannibal Holocaust, because it isn't nearly as shocking or horrific. Yes, there are real animal deaths in this, but some of them were death by other animals. I guess once you see Cannibal Holocaust, nothing will shock you ever again. The deaths are more elaborate and there aren't as many cannibals as in Holocaust. These aren't the vivacious cannibals that were in Holocaust either, these are more solemn and vengeful cannibals. Giovanni Lombardo Radice from City of the Living Dead is great as Mike, the demented drug dealer. The plot was nicely ironic, with three researchers in the Amazon who are out to prove cannibalism doesn't exist and that it was just a myth made up by the Conquistadors, and the ending was nicely bleak. Set aside all preconceived notions about this being an Italian cannibal flick and just watch it because you may be surprised.

Allan C (it) wrote: David O. Selznick produced vehicle for wife Jones and it seems largely like a vanity piece for Ms. Jones. Unfortunately most of the film is a bit of an endurance test, but I did like the over-the-top dramatic ending. If the rest of the film had been that wild, it may have been a camp classic.

Vitaliy S (de) wrote: Frank Lucas made an awesome impression on me how's business needed to be taken care of for some time while. But he really longed for the last run... and finally underestimated lawenforcement units and traitors around him. Should have hidden dope in a new place for a while with extra care and attention with trustworthy fellas.

Kara S (fr) wrote: To me, this movie could be really good or really bad. I love all these actors so I'm hoping that it is good but it could turn out to just to be stupid.
