Chris B (it) wrote: David Fincher showing again why he is one of the best directors in Hollywood. This film is incredibly made. It is a dialogue driven film. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have great chemistry together and work off each other well. Mara deservedly was nominated for the best actress Oscar. This is a dark movie so be prepared for that when going in. Another great crime/drama that Fincher does so well.
Scott M (ru) wrote: There are several huge plot holes that are never addressed and somehow this movie seems to depend on multiple sequels to make sense. First, who are the French speaking terrorists and the mysterious Mr. Big behind the nuclear plot? How do they know about Chris Johnson? What is their motivation? Why does Special Agent, Callie Ferris, think a man who can see two minutes into the future is the key to stopping the nuclear terrorists? Why is Jessica Biel so instantly ion love with Chris, a creepy guy old enough to be her dad?The plot is so bad, you wonder if a script was ever written before the making of this film. There is just a premise of how cool it might be to live your life in a two minute version of Groundhog Day. The movie ends in a way that makes you wonder how Nicholas Cage thinks he will ever help the FBI, since the one element that enhanced his abilities will be eliminated in the following iteration?Even movies that have guaranteed sequels are more self-contained than Next. This film needs multiple sequels to make any sense, and yet is not compelling enough to warrant them.
