Norm of the North

The stereoscopic 3D animated family film "Norm" tells the story of the titular polar bear and his three Arctic lemming buddies, who are forced out into the world once their icy home begins melting and breaking apart. Landing in New York, Norm begins life anew as a performing corporate mascot, only to discover that his new employers are directly responsible for the destruction of his polar home.

A polar bear of many words, Norm’s greatest gripe is simple: there is no room for tourists in the Arctic. When a real estate development invades his Arctic home, Norm and his three lemming friends head to New York City. Once there, he meets a surprising ally who helps him hatch a scheme to sabotage the shady developer's plans. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Seth K (ca) wrote: Let's start with the bad. The plot is familiar - cranky older guy teaching lessons to youngster (The Karate Kid, About a Boy, Ashby with Mickey Rourke). Now for the good. One of the best Bill Murray performances ever and excellent supporting turns by Naomi Watts and a surprisingly adept Melissa McCarthy. Kudos.

David S (ru) wrote: The film starts off fairly routine as it appears to follow the "is she crazy or isn't she" story formula to a T, complete with the perdictable twist that reveals the answer to the said question. However, what elevates this above other "Les Diaboliques" imitators is the fact that the film doesn't end at the twist but continues, offering up its own original twists that are both genuinely clever and surprising, making the plot much more complex and intricate than we originally thought it was. In the end, the routine predictably of its opening reels was to only lull the viewer into a false sense of confidence, only to undermine that confidence within its closing act with its startling twists.Hammer Studio's best of their many "Hitchcockian" thrillers they produced (including "Paranoiac" and "Nightmare").

Gemma P (br) wrote: This is an interesting movie about the Anita Hill scandal that plagued Clarence Thomas' confirmation as a US Supreme Court Justice. I thought Kerry Washington did a great job portraying a character that had political temptress written all over it, yet managed to show different characteristics than her role as Olivia Pope in Scandal. Wendell Pierce as Clarence Thomas was thoughtful and shnarky at the same time - he and his wife brought into the conversation some of the other issues that were surrounding this event in its place and time, as did Jeffrey Wright. The ending was sweet, although the question, "Who do you believe?" made it somewhat bitter as well.
