North v South

North v South

For decades the criminal underworlds of the North and South bumped along begrudgingly. Like the Cold War, territories were respected out of the necessity to avoid apocalypse, with each side keeping tabs on the other’s capability. Such a precarious false harmony could not last forever. Now someone has crossed the line, and there’s no going back. An illicit love affair smolders, breaking taboo and threatening catastrophe at the smallest mistake. It is a romance of purest, unadulterated love, yet so forbidden that its discovery would wreak total carnage. The story is told through vignettes of strikingly original characters, with intertwining subplots that echo the complexity of life in the dog-eat-dog criminal underworld.

A modern Romeo and Juliet love story, the movie follows two star-crossed lovers while they try to navigate through all-out war between the North and South dog-eat-dog criminal underworld. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Sanjid P (gb) wrote: Though this slow-burn, low budget slasher (with some supernatural elements) offers a disappointing "to be continued" ending, but liked the way they treated genre's cliched "the night he came home" sort of theme with having almost zero onscreen killing/violence. The decent cast & its atmospheric tension driven approach actually kinda worked pretty well till the very end which surely will piss off many viewers. It all just needed another 5 to 10 minutes to reveal the 'twist' adequately & then could offer a hint for the sequel. Anyway, overall not bad.

Chris J (nl) wrote: Great story, lovely filmography, but it lacked a cinematic feel. Very amateurish, but enjoyable.

Daniel S (fr) wrote: I'd been wanting to see this since it premiered at tiff 2012, i mean id watch that cast in anything, walken is great here, i liked his character the best, and its one of his best performances, the other 3 are all good, tho they all ended up annoying me in one way or another, and it's got my new crush imogen poots in it, sadly without her charming british accent, overall its a solid drama, and has some good music, tho makes me never want to be a musician, looks like a shitty pretentious life

Jacob K (ag) wrote: Oh, has this series fallen. The first was very funny, the second was decent, but this one is terrible. Avoid and pretend it doesn't exist

Jason M (gb) wrote: Another Tom Hanks blockbuster in an era when he was one of the top actors in Hollywood. This is also Paul Newman's last cinematic acting role. This is a very good film, but not a great one. The plot plays out very carefully and is well written, with just the right amount of details. Some obvious holes will have the audience asking "why did he do that?" For example, when Sullivan critically wounds the assassin, why doesn't he simply finish the job? The feeling of the film is dark (and wet). This is not a "happy" film and thus makes it standout from the typical Hollywood ending you would expect. Both Hanks and Newman are fantastic in their roles. A must-see for ganster movie aficionados.

Angel G (us) wrote: Not great, but entertaining and tense for what it was. "Disturbing Behavior" benefits from its interesting plot, some creepy scenes, its ideas and strong performances from James Marsden and Katie Holmes. Its just entertaining teen thriller, nothing special really. However, William Sadler steals the show as the janitor, he's funny and was perfect for the role. Wont be a classic but its suspenseful fun that you can find in Netflix.

David T (ca) wrote: I've enjoyed this film since I was younger than I am now and I am thrilled that it came out in 1991 - the year I was born. I am a longtime fan of firefighting related stories and films. For the most part, I didn't have any problems with this film. The problems I had were that air masks were not worn in certain parts of the film, the brothers lose their firefighter Dad in a firefighting accident and that the older brother dies at the end.

Christian C (jp) wrote: Heck! This MOVIE stinks! Not funny in the least.

Louisa T (mx) wrote: I liked this, but it made for somewhat uncomfortable viewing--there were many moments where I wasn't sure if the audience was meant to be laughing or not. Julia Roberts was great (I'm not usually a fan).

Alex A (ca) wrote: If Boyz N the Hood was about hope being obtainable by youths born and raised in the ghetto, then Menace to Society is the far more violent equivalent, about the grim reality of ghetto youths who don't have that hope. There's no sugarcoating here.
