laurent c (kr) wrote: Eric Rochant tries and succeed in telling a story mixing thriller and romance. Jean Dujardin is, as always, very good, and Ccile de France astonishing !

Carlos M (gb) wrote: An honest documentary about the lives of American soldiers in Iraq, initially conceived by the filmmaker as a way to portray the routine and experiences of his two brothers serving there but then growing into something quite revealing about the relationship between them.

Kenneth E (ca) wrote: I know it's not great, but it had me laughing my ass off!! I wanted to watch it for Pauley Shore, but he is only a minor role. The lead actors, who are both kids, are great! The plot is simple: Kids switch roles with their parents. As childish as the movie is, it is hilarious, as far as a G rated movie goes. I reccomend it to anyone who needs a laugh.

Tom F (kr) wrote: This should have been called; "Sleepover: How to Not Make a Movie." The acting was so bad my eyes were bleeding the entire way through. Any critic who gave this a fresh rating should immediately be fired from their job and excommunicated from the entertainment industry.

Hayden L (jp) wrote: A dark and brooding film captures the essence of Mosley's novels, washington is amazing as the Ezekiel Rawlins and Tom Sizemore is disturbing as the sadistic Albright. Extremely well crafted and executed. With a great sense of humor to boot, it is fantastic.

Garrett C (it) wrote: Superb early work by the all time great Billy Wilder, who handles this little play-like espionage flick with an already mature hand. It doesn't reach the same heights that even the very next film he made did (Double Indemnity), but you can see an already special talent at work here.

Matthew R (kr) wrote: stupid critic's do not know a good movie from bad one. This is a good movie! hits the right notes and very touching and entertaining. Maybe those negative critics need a heart transplant themselves as something missing.

Lee C (mx) wrote: From the moment the film starts to its finale, every scene was a joy to watch with it's full gamut of emotions throughout. Star turns take second billing to the fantastic young leads of the film who steal the show. If you're able to watch without feeling an inner need to strut your stuff (and I'm a real none dancer) then your pulse must be zero as the soul soundtrack is groovy. The real winning factor of the film though is it's capturing of the 70's spirit and feel. Life was simpler but a dark thread still wove through Lancashire. A must see with no doubt.

Bill B (ru) wrote: I think that I could've rated this higher had I watched it when it originally hit theaters, but catching it as an adult it was simply okay. I enjoyed Fred Ward well enough, but for some reason the film as a whole never really 'spoke' to me. I suppose I may have to give it another watch in the future, see if anything changes when I know where things are headed, but that likely won't happen for a few years at the very least.Rental?
