If it was suppose to entertain me, then it did the job fairly well.Flying grandma nuns, flying priests, snarling people walking by, lesbian vampires, and a terrible actress. That sums up the movie right there. If you want a laugh at a terrible movie, get this.

JD (ag) wrote: This is one weird, confusing, crazy, twisted Shakespeare movie but hey I still very much enjoyed it. If no one knows what this movie is about! It's about a Roman general named Titus Andronicus and when he returns home he finds out the enemy queen is going to marry the Roman Emperor and bad things to many characters in this movie and no one knows who will be the last one standing. This movie Titus is a movie about revenge and about power and with a strong cast this movie performs the Shakespeare story very well. Yes I do think the length of the movie was a tad long and it did make the movie kind of a bore at times because there are so many scenes in this movie that just don't matter. If this movie was about 30 minutes shorter it would be a lot more enjoyable, but still I liked this movie I found it was very well told and I think Anthony Hopkins was terrific as the lead role Titus Andronicus.

Le contraire d'un film historique, plutot une tranche de vie superbement interpretee par Dutronc. Pialat est un tres grand, on l'oublie trop souvent.

Thomas P (ag) wrote: Sparkling with nervous teenage energy and that feeling that you are getting away with something great. This film is light sweet fantasy and dreamy small-talk magic that has quietly become culturally iconic. It's a tiny glimpse of some good in being young in 50s America.Chock full with vibrancy, awkward hilarity, high school angst, all within a day and night of small town cruising, except with all the little nuances that let the audience share in each moment. No matter your age, you get to laugh, and you get to sense nostalgia. And especially the power of little, memorable moments. No wonder it kicked off all the wildly successful tv series: Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy, and gave us the indelible Fonz!Aaayyyeeeee...And the list of players here is clearly a who's who of Hollywood successes. Especially the smaller roles w Harrison Ford and Susanna Somers in the smallest of bits.A quiet, low budget, all-American triumph.5 out of 5 horn-rimmed glasses

Cecilia C (us) wrote: The skipper (Cary Grant) of a World War II submarine rescues five stranded Army nurses and puts into port for repairs, where he must scrounge and scavenge parts and supplies needed to put the sub back into action, but a Japanese air raid forces them prematurely out to sea, although their sub has been painted bright pink. Tony Curtis co-stars as a prima donna Naval officer who accidentally found himself assigned to Grant?s sub. Most of the funniest laughs come from the tension between Grant?s by-the-book methods and Curtis? ability to disregard and alter those methods.
Barney o (fr) wrote: WHAT I LIKED: Guy Ritchie's first Sherlock Holmes was a bit of a surprise, and strangely enough, his second attempt is too. Now what it does so successfully is to update the great aspects of its predecessor's style in a slicker manor to deliver an experience that's slightly less gritty but even more fun. That's enhanced mostly by a solidifying of Ritchie's refined vision, but it's also achieved with an overall increase in action and humour throughout. That gives many of the appealing elements of quirkiness a chance to properly shine, and puts Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law in exceedingly amusing territory.WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Some of the character ground-work is lost, and whilst the plot is more developed, it is now dizzyingly complicated.VERDICT: A sequel that refines itself and generally ups the anti; 'A Game of Shadows' is a successful sequel from Guy Ritchie. Surely he needs to head for Pirates of the Caribbean now.
