Cant remember the last time i became so emotionally invested in a character that i could feel my gut twisting and boiling with rage. Simply amazing performances all the way through the cast, and pisses all over films like Green Street and Scum. An actual motherfucking masterpiece

Down to earth and real with some poignant messages. Remarkable performances form the cast, many of whom were not professionals but recruited off the streets of Hackney. Ashley Walters was very impressive.

Watching each and every scene you really feel like you're watching true footage instead of staged, yes I know the animal violence is very real. And yet it's strangely compelling to see. It's one of those movies that I would recommend people see, but if anyone can't make it through or just doesn't have the stomach for, I'll completely understand.

Josh V (fr) wrote: One of the greatest unknown films of all time. Jean Seberg plays the best schizophrenic on screen ever. The film is both a visual and a written wonder. The imagery of the film is as great a character as the characters within the film.
Peter J (de) wrote: This true gem of an indie movie tells the sometimes funny, always touching story of aspiring twenty-something New York comedian Donna Stern who is facing tough life decisions (one of which includes a consultation with Planned Parenthood). The greatest of many highlights is the wonderful Jenny Slate who portrays a conflicted character with warmth, humor and vulnerability. Most importantly: "Obvious Child" feels *real*.
