Sergio Andres P (es) wrote: Wow! jajaja Piranha 3DD is so bad that in the ending feels like if it was very entertaining and comical. Its final sequence really creates a new masterpiece of absurd. Full of gore, bad acting, terrible visual effects and tits everywhere. Funny as hell. 1.5/5

Dan H (ag) wrote: As far as plot goes I can't say much without giving anything away, so I'll keep it simple. Lucie (Mylene Jampanoi) escapes from a warehouse where she had been tortured for quite some time. She is taken to a hospital where she meets Anna (Morjana Alaoui). The two almost immediately become friends. 15 years later, the now seriously unhinged Lucie sets out on a quest for revenge which will have horrifying consequences for both girls. This is a French torture-porn film (It's not as much about revenge as you would think). It's also so much more than that. It may be the most relentless, IN-YOUR-FACE, graphic, unpleasant, visceral, non-stop, bloody, brutal, emotionally affecting, and profoundly disturbing horror film I have ever seen. What it sets out to do, it does extremely well, not to mention it throws in some twists too (which was appreciated), and it actually has meaning. Martyrs is an unforgettable film, you won't be able to un-see what is seen here. It's certainly not for everyone, and it is definitely an incredibly challenging, difficult watch. Personally, I wasn't crazy about it as it really wasn't made for me, though I can respect that it doesn't hold back. This is the kind of film Eli Roth wishes he could make. This is torture porn done right. If you are at all interested in Martyrs, stay FAR AWAY from the American remake trailer, as it gives just about everything important about the original away.

There are some somewhat funny parts, in a 7th grade sense of humor kind of way, but it's hard to get through in one sitting. Okay for young teens, and a pretty good performance from Larry Miller.

Alex r (ca) wrote: Brilliant drama, Talk To Me based on the life of radio DJ Ralph "Petey" Greene, manages to be an engrossing picture, one that is engaging from the first frame onwards. I thought that the film's story was well written, and it boasted a great script, only elevated by two great performances its lead actors Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor, who have terrific on-screen chemistry, which makes this a stunning and accomplished drama. Greene was a controversial figure, and he wasn't afraid to speak his minds, and stand up for what he believed in. Cheadle channels that perfectly, and his performance here ranked as one of his finest of his career. Talk To Me is an accomplished drama, one that has hints of humor, just adds something a bit more to the serious story, and it works. The story and acting is sure to delight genre fans, and overall this is a compelling drama worth seeing due to its subject, it's acting and exceptional direction. Don Cheadle is always great to watch on-screen and here he delivers something unique and elevates his filmography even further because, he simply commands the screen with his presence, and the pairing of him and terrific actor, Ejiiofor is what makes this film definitely worth your time. I have a background in Radio, studied for four years in college, and seeing this film was a treat. "Petey" Greene was unique, and it's great to see Cheadle playing such a great figure and he brings his unique style to the role, which adds so much depth to the screen. Talk To Me is a great drama that is elevated by its cast, story and direction. If you love the genre, give this drama a shot, you'll surely find it very entertaining.

Ron H (kr) wrote: One of my all time favorite pornos. I think I first saw it at around age 15. After being jaded by so much go nowhere soft core, I remember thinking "there's no way they're going to do what I think they are going to do." And they did. For example in the first five minutes, two women awake from space hypersleep. There's no way they're going to have hot lesbian sex right now - but they did. There's no way the ship is going to crash and the ladies will start flailing around and jiggling in close up. But they did. After wandering through the desert for hours and stopping at a stream, there's no way they (including the cute one) are going to strip out of their space suits. But they did. And there's no way said space suits are going to be stolen by guys in ape suits followed by a long jiggly chase through the forests of the ape world. And no way are the apes going to imprison the girls in bikinis. And no way they are going to have hot lesbian sex in the cell. And no way the apes will put and on music and the girls will do a strip tease. But they did. Oh yes, they did.I also remember this movie was really funny. Like slightly funnier than standard porno funny. You'll probably never see it, so here's the best joke. The ship with the jiggly women is crashing. Two apes look up. One ape says to the other "If Chalrton Heston is going to give another speech on gun control, I'm gonna fucking shoot myself." Classic.

A superior, highly intelligent & credible script & top-notch performances put this among one of the best British offerings of the 90's.*****5 out of 5 stars*****

Reece L (us) wrote: The thing that first hits home about Sex, Lies, and Videotape is the quietly penetrative mood (made possible through a smart use of silence) that acts as a conduit for every subsequent compelling interaction or piece of dialogue. Through this mood, Soderbergh generates a legitimately sexy, funny, and real piece of entertainment with subtle dramatic elements of the story allowed to unfold naturally, therefore makes them more effective. The deeply intelligent screenplay drives everything expertly, with naturalistic performances from supremely capable players (there's an extended conversation between McDowell and Spader that's absolutely riveting) communicating its subtle comments on the ways in which sexuality and deception motivate the most mundane of relationships with grace and poignancy. The "first" independent film remains one of the greatest even after nearly three decades and deserves to be considered a benchmark for the genre as it continues to evolve.
