John D (au) wrote: Oh boy, I've seen enough. Enough of this bullsh*t, I mean. Like I was already hooked up with the third one. I thought this series is getting better at least. But boy I was wrong. This is I think the weakest of the franchise. I was expecting more, with exciting execution at least. But it's just RE 2 all over again. I really don't mind the acting nor the story, but the kind of action that everybody wants. It's like I'm watching a bad heavy metal music video with slow motions everywhere. And has really some awkward moments. The pacing sucks in this film. You are going to like it by its looks I guess, with overused CGI, cause this film is made to the 3D thing and it's improvisation. Look, it's all about marketing anymore. The better looking the visuals are, the people are going to watch it. But hardcore horror / action genre fans will definitely be disappointed. Paul W.S Anderson could do it better, or maybe he will produce these films instead. 2.5/5.

Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, Spiderman villain Alfred Molina.. and the main 'name' actor of the day, Phil Daniels from Quadrophenia. Typical Mike Leigh film in that not much happens in a totally realistic way

Christopher B (mx) wrote: Odd little murder mystery. Odd because it's French; Murder since there is a vengeful serial-killer; and a mystery because of how & why the killer has anything to avenge. While it was likely shocking in 1968 now it's a great chick flick - with subtitles.

Jupiter R (it) wrote: Oculus is one of those totally predict able horror movies. I feel if you started this as your first horror movie and didn't know that anytime someone thinks they're killing a spirit or a ghost from they're past they're actually killing a real person that is close to them. They're were a few good scares but I was mainly disappointed with how this turned out.
Eric N (es) wrote: Intelligent action-adventure. Sweet to look at (although I think the washed-out color distances a lot of fans). Engaging, moving, socially relevant. Many discussion-able themes which are among the most fascinating of the movie series (ie: nature vs nurture, social injustice, the Star Trek philosophy of being better than you could be). Not the best example of a Star Trek film but after Insurrection this is a very acceptable way to end the series, even if it is leagues more forlorn than Part VI for the original crew.

Bradley J (jp) wrote: Wes Anderson might be my favorite director. Each film he creates is beautifully quirky but also heartfelt and down to earth. The Royal Tenenbaums is no different. Charming and funny, the film is a lovely dysfunctional family tale with heart and humor to spare. Not much really happens and the pacing is a bit uneven, but for anyone who loves films and loves family really should give it a try. Rating: 82
