Tim S (es) wrote: Slugs: The Movie definitely ranks in the category of "so bad that it's good". Originally titled Slugs, Muerta Viscosa (literally Slugs: Death Slime), it's about what you would expect from a movie about killer insects or bugs. The plot is pretty generic: a small town is invaded by over-sized killer slugs that have been mutated from toxic waste dumps, are getting into people's homes and water supply, and killing them. It's up to three people, including the town's health inspector, a science teacher, and a sewage treatment man, to stop them from succeeding, but of course, no one believes them until it's too late. So yeah, pretty standard fare for this kind of movie. It's the kind of plot they've been doing since the 1950's, and was hit over the head by American International Pictures in the 1970's. The dialogue is hilarious, but there's also plenty of gore on display for gore hounds. There's never really much of a pay off and some of the people as obstacles to the plot can be annoying, but the movie is hilariously bad, and definitely worth a watch.

Mason B (kr) wrote: Shockingly terrible, Bunraku is an extreme example of style over any kind of substance, at all. Bunraku tries to tell a simple tale of good versus evil in post-apocalyptic setting, with a cowboy and a samurai going up against a murderous warlord called the woodcutter. The film has a very unique visual and cinematic style, with it's sensibilities coming from both theatre and videom games. But Buraku's visual style, which is all this movie has going for it, loses audience interest after about half an hour. You just become numb to all the forced quirkiness and the weirdness of the set design that you just stop caring. The film also contains poetic aspirations which are very annoying and pretentious. I actually stopped listening the around the fifth time the villain tried to give a profound speech. So all you're left with is the story, which is so threadbare it loses interest before the visual style does. And then there's the characters, whom are cardboard cutouts, poorly acted, without any definable characteristic to speak of. All this would have made for a bad movie, but what pushes Bunraku into the realm of the truly awful is how boring the whole thing is. It starts to get dull at around the half-hour mark, and then proceeds to get more and more tedious until I was desperate for the whole thing to end. To my complete horror the film turned out to be two hours long, thirty-five minutes longer than it should have been. It turned out to be one of the most painful sit-throughs of a film I've ever endured. Save yourself two hours, don't sit-through this unwatchable film.

Corey n (it) wrote: This is a great hustle film. James Woods is great as the con man conning the con man of a small town. The film is basically about that and boxing. This is just a fun film. The story was interesting and has great characters. The film also stars Lou Gossett Jr, Oliver Platt, Bruce Dern and a very young Heather Graham. The film has that mix of comedy and drama. It does it well with the crew of actors in it. One of those films well worth checking out.

Jose Miguel G (au) wrote: Ghostbusters mixes humor, action, spooks and even cleverly nerdy writing, into what it could be the 80s most memorable original film, that still holds up today as it did back in the day.

Jayakrishnan R (fr) wrote: 89%Watched this on 21/9/14Now this is a film that lives up to it's reputation! This is Richard Attenborough's dream and hardships which he carried with himself for 20 years. Gandhi is just an epic without all those fighting as you see in the films of the genre. I can't imagine how the director was actually able to procure such massive number of people and make them act in his desired manner. You can't picture a man's entire life into a film, but still this film follows all the important aspects and ideals of Gandhi's life. As any Indian, I also knew clearly well about what Gandhi did to help India gain it's independence, but we never knew much about what happened to him post the freedom was obtained, he was of course assassinated. What really surprised me was the story of the film towards the last 30 minutes which told of his life post the independence. Those incidents that happen during that time time are just unimaginably disturbing. Ben Kingsley's performance is outstanding and people would remember his mannerisms as Gandhi when they speak about the man itself, there by affixing himself as Gandhi in the minds of all those who have seen the film.
