But I couldn't really buy James Van Der Beek as a G-Man for one reason. In the 1980s, I have to imagine that the FBI wasn't letting their agents sport three-day-old beards. Wendy Crewson, however, was marvelous as a diplomat.
Thomas H (de) wrote: Great movie. Very creepy with an unexpected twist at the end. The only flaw here is that a few parts are a little confusing. If you liked Wrong Turn, you'll love Shrooms.

A Spec-Ops type military unit goes to a forest/jungle for some reason and is hunted down by a skeleton wearing a hood and riding a horse that goes from brown to black very often. For those who appreciate token stupid horror, this is a very good choice! I wasn't sure if movies were still made this incompetently in the 21st century but I'm glad to say that the spirit of Troll 2 is still alive and well! The only reason it doesn't get a perfect rating is because there's no unnecessary nudity and the acting is actually not terrible, both of which I'd expect from a film like this. Still there's plenty of great idiocy to be enjoyed here! A must buy for $3 at Wal-Mart!

Muffin M (ru) wrote: In 1952, in the midst of the Cuban Missile crisis, the fear was nuclear war, so madcap scientist Calvin Webber (Christopher Walken) and his pregnant wife (Sissy Spacek) retreated to their home-away-from-home bomb shelter. They had a baby, Adam, and raised him with good wholesome 60's values. Now 35 years later and with the all clear from Dad, Adam (Brendan Fraser) is stepping out of the shelter and into the nineties... that's one small step for Adam, one giant shock for mankind. Here Adam, the guy who loves Perry Como records and thinks "gay" means chirpy, is about to meet a worldly 90's babe called Eve (Alicia Silverstone). With names like that you'd think it was the beginning of something divine, but with his taste in clothes and her taste in music, they're worlds - and decades - apart!also stars Dave Foley, Joey Slotnick, Dale Raoul, Scott Thompson and Harrison Young.directed by Hugh Wilson.
Paul B (kr) wrote: A big movie that doesn't short on drama, action, and British military incompetence in the late 1800's. A true historical account of Khartoum in the Sudan, there was no holding back of the budget on this grand display of Charlton Heston and Laurence Olivier. Wow, is Laurence Olivier tan. The sweeping landscapes, cast of thousands, and dramatic sequences make this a very good historical and theatrical watch. The drama is a little over the top sometimes but everything else is strong.
