(gb) wrote: A powerful but very depressing film, because the people living on the edge and sometimes not surviving are leading such sad lives. Moving performance by Bardem.

(br) wrote: I was never a skate boarder but I was always fascinated with the sport and the life style. This movie kept me entertained the entire way through. It truly shows the ups and downs of being a teenager and the paths that the 4 friends take. Heath Ledger is amazing playing a whacked out father like figure and truly adds some great moments in this film. You dont have to be a skateboarder or someone who grew up during the time period to enjoy this film.

When Coraline is enjoying an experience in the other world i feel like i'm with her enjoying that experience along with her. The characters are also very well done and they have very realistic personality traits as well as very artistic designs. The story is very well paced as well as very well told. I always look forward to watching this movie every Halloween. (A)

(gb) wrote: "Revenge of the Ninja" is a perfect example of "so bad, it's good". It has some of the worst acting and is one of the most unintentionally funny movies I have ever seen. It does feature a skilled martial arts master in Sho Kosugi, who as a bonus, carries the lead role confidently if not quietly. But the other ninjas are awful. Arthur Roberts plays bad guy Braden who looks a bit like Will Farrell playing a rich porn director. Mario Gallo as Caifano plays the most cliched and inept mob boss ever. You must see this movie because it has got some of the most ridiculous martial arts scenes you will ever witness. For example, Sho Kosugi's character has three arrows shot at him. He catches one in his left hand, one in his right hand and one with his teeth. Yep. That happened very early in the movie and from that point on, I knew this was going off the rails. Later, a grandmother back flips her way across a room and a 45 pound eight-year old beats up on a couple of 300 pound henchmen. And it's all done completely straight-faced.

(nl) wrote: For me, the best A. Hepburn I've ever seen. Elegant, funny, smart, emotional, I can see all of the good personalities in her funny face.
(mx) wrote: Stanwyck is amazing with this flick! She keeps the interest rolling. a great film for its time probably. Marilyn Monroe is quite young in this movie, does a good job too...

(mx) wrote: As one of Will Smith's greatest performances, I, Robot showcases the pure ability of amazing acting. Although the CGI was somewhat "out-dated," almost every other aspect of this film definitely compensates for it. Many, many, many Wonderfully, and artistically performed shots have you hanging on the edge of your seat, waiting for the beautiful climax. This film, having amazing jump-scenes, show what our not very distant future may have in store...
(kr) wrote: Moonrise Kingdom is a pretty good coming of age movie with a lot of weirdness along the way. Though I enjoyed it, it didn't really stand out that much...there are way better coming of age movies. I also think it's an overrated film, in no way is their "brilliant" or a "masterpiece" like others believe it to be. But, overall, it was still solid but still a little too weird for me (the style I mean). I don't see myself rewatching this movie, it's just not one of thoseRating: GOOD 3/5 OR 6/10

For those of us who have only "dark matter" with regard the physics or math but still appreciate the passion, frustration, failure, supreme success like thousands of 10 years old kids turned loos in the ultimate Toys R US Mega Store. I grew up on R.P Feynman's Bongo's Physics and Art For Everyone talks and the Space Race. I learned how astonishingly beautiful science is and the infinite possibilities the universe holds. Have followed CERN/LHCb since the ground was dug (and angry at my own government knit wits who didn't know a LHC from a BMW .. but killed it anyway .. AND WE PAID FOR IT). I'm now 70 years old, retired and living in a Senior Citizen efficiency apartment .... and still have no concept of physics or math ... but I know what excitement is .... and how beautiful the universe is. This 2 hour walk down the "tube" with the smart kids ... gave me hope. Even old woman can learn something new.
