Brett H (ru) wrote: The Den is a totally average cry wolf-type story where no one believes the main character's plight, but the material is elevated by the gimmick of having the characters interact solely through chat videos, though Unfriended did it much better. The use of an educational study to fuel the plot is a clever technique, but for a long while it's like watching one of your friends using chat-roulette, and we all know how asinine that gets. Once the "horror" elements kick in it picks up momentum but it always seems just a hair out of reach of believability which is almost worsened by the ending; which is ironically the most interesting aspect of the film. The Hostel-type ending and commentary on society's sick desire to see the next extreme almost comes out of nowhere and while it opened the film's universe wide, the execution was pretty sloppy. Not a terrible horror film by any means but it's mostly redundant for 2/3 and then the last act is what you'll walk away remembering; no matter how ridiculous it becomes.

Carl N (au) wrote: This film maybe low budget but it also happens to be one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a long time. It's blasphemous and completely non-PC. Brutal action and gore scenes, musical numbers, Strippers and gun totting Kung-Fu kicking lesbian nuns. I loved every minute of this film. Rest assured that no religion is safe. Every religious joke you could envision finds its way into this. I never thought I'd watch a film involving assassin nuns fighting the mob. Let alone see Jesus doing a song and dance routine with nuns providing backup. You really need to see this to believe it. Look out for cameos from Debbie Rochon and Troma legend Lloyd Kaufman who appears as the Pope.
